Mine have been frozen for a while now. Maybe a few years already.

 

so what do you do for an alignment?

 

Any of you guys that have replaced yours, have you looked into the greaseable ones to avoid this in the future?

So far the alignment has been good enough not to use those bolts.

 

Those are just like the Moog/ SPC ones. I have one Moog in mine, 3 others are OEM. Some had issues with this design in the past, specifically techs would strip the eccentric plate to bolt interface cause it's not 1 solid piece like OEM . So far mine seems fine, I'll know better after I get my LR UCAS in and get a new alignment though.

I have heard the same thing as Seth. A lot of people saying they are having problems with the SPC/Moogs. I think the best thing to do is get yours free and take them apart once a while and apply lots and lots of anti-seize to everything!

 

Tonight has to be an insane crowd. People have been in the city since like 9/10 AM drinking because of the marathon and Sox game

 

I concur. When you see them side by side OEM is so much beefier.

I was able to free 3 of the 4 cam adjusters fortunately. Took considerable force though. What worked for me was disconnecting LCA from spindle, then try to loosen the adjusters as much as you can. Then I stepped on the end of the LCA and kicked the thing until the bolts broke loose from the bushings. I cleaned 3 of the 4 up and reinstalled. The 4th had to be cut out though

 

Let's hope that some daily spraying for the next couple of weeks with some PB Blaster and regular driving is enough to free them up. I won't have time to put a wrench on them for another couple of weeks anyway.

 

Hm... so 133k of daily driving... I guess I'll need to cut them out and replace them....

 

Anyone with a compressor, pneumatic hammer works well

 

I've got a compressor, impact wrench and an air chisel. I'm confident in my ability to fuck it up royally.

 

How about torches?

 

Just a plumber's torch.

 

That's still plenty to burn that bitch to the ground.

Plumbers torch is all I have. Helps to loosen shit up. Otherwise sawzall and good metal cutting blades/ cutting oil is all you need
