The impulsive side of me has been scouring the internet seeing what's for sale in the area. The logical side knows I'd be better off just renting when I actually have time to fly.

Man I bought it cheap, & except annuals, worked it myself. Sold it for several thousand more than I paid. I did keep it locally (next to my house) at a buddies airstrip so parking was free too.

Cost do add up but I think I about broke even on it or just a little off.

...^^^... I would rent .... unless I got a super, super, super deal.

IMO, same bird can get old if it's personally owned, unless it's maybe a Mooney or a cool biplane. :)

Plus, flying same bird does not sharpen your all around skills as much IMO.

PS ... Can you be your own mechanic too ??

    Good luck

Got an hour in an Arrow and surprised my instructor with having never flown one before. Getting closer to my commercial ticket!

United lost my luggage, according to them one of my bags is still in Frankfurt, even though I saw both of them in Philadelphia......

I've seen that aircraft broken down at airports all over the world. C-5 size, less reliable than a Yugo.

It spews out more black exhaust than I have ever seen on a modern commercial/freight A/C.

At least you weren't forced to have anything off their new menu of "Chinese take out".

...^^^... You are maybe spoiled on them ... :)

I love those aircraft ... and very rarely get to fly them now.

I'll build one of these once I'm out of the Army and settled down enough to have time and space. That gives me some time to decide which model to build.

If you can't build a Spad XIII, go with the Nieuport 28.

I'd bet the cargo hold on the plane was overbooked and they had to pull your bag off
