That's what happened. A 24F battery was used.

$253 later the one 140A fuse was replaced. Fuse cost ~$20.
Toyota dealership cost for repair in Fayetteville NC.

    OMG. WTF!?
I am having this same damn problem on my 94 4runner.
After yanking on the damn prongs from the ALT 80 amp for 10 minutes without budging, I researched and come to find it is being held in place by a bolt from underneath? WTF?!
OK, fine, I can handle that, no problem, I just have to loosen 2 bolts that hold the fuse box down... oh wait, there is a smaller plastic box attached to the front of the main fuse box, completely blocking any possible access to the fucking bolt I need to loosen.
    Seriously Toyota. What. The. Fuck.
    I am so pissed.
I threw my wrench across the street into the snow... sigh...
I feel like that guy that walked away from his car for 2 days not wanting to even look at it, but I don't have an extra vehicle, so I don't have that luxury.

.....ok. I'm going to have a beer and try to calm down.

Does anyone know how to detach the stupid little plastic box connected to the front of my fuse box, blocking the bolt I must loosen?

    Hi all,

Has anyone figured this out yet? I'm in this club myself and and seem to get this thing split to access the hold downs.

I found this youtube video but it appears to be an older fuse box than my 2010.

    Thanks!

Mass Air Intake. Replaced blown alternator and power fuses: 2 fuses.
For the 120 amp/Alternator Fuse and the Power fuse next to it in the fuse box of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner V-6: Disconnect car battery.Use deep offset wrenches to remove the screws holding the fuses on both sides. Also, use plyers and some duct tape to creatively reinstall the nuts/screws after inserting the fuses. Last step: Reconnect your car battery. After this is done: PATTERN: External power source is needed: Either a car battery jumper or jumper cables/another car to give you a jump. Your car engine will not turn on on its own after the ALT 120 amp fuse is installed. Trying to start the car continuously is very frustrating since it will not start on its own power source. ONCE your car jump starts, remove jumper cables, leave the car engine on for a few minutes. Then, go for a 3-5 mile drive: Car battery will be OK after this ride. This can mislead a DIY mechanic like myself into thinking that I did not install the fuses properly or that I did not do a great job.

You will be unbelievably lucky if it is only the three fuses.
