Shortbed is easier to park and better for offroad. If your working with or hauling with your truck bed long bed is better and supposedly smoother on the road?? I have a long bed on double cab and it personally to me looks way better. Esspecially when lifted

I had a friend say the short bed on my double cab looked unporportional, after his comment, I did notice that it looked a bit short. When I saw a double cab long bed that too looked a bit too long (over stretched).

Got the SB, wish I had the LB. I've never seen someone say the opposite.

Don't get me wrong, I love the short bed for getting around town, but I'm sure I could still find parking with the LB and it'd be that much more comfortable and spacious when camping.

I have short bed it works for me, but its fuckin small.

With the OEM tonneau its useless. Couldn't even get 4 tires home in the bed when I got my winters put on since the 3rd panel doesn't fold up.

I haven't taken it camping yet but I have loaded all my gear to make sure it will work and with tonneau I can manage, but I do plan on putting a bed rack eventually anyways which will make it even better since I'll gain height.

Moving sheet goods is possible but would definitely be better with the long bed, or better yet a full size lol.
I'm happy with it as it meets my needs, but that extra foot would be welcome with open arms haha. But off road is only offered in short box AND where I park at my girlfriends in her parking spot, is short. I just fit with a short bed, that extra foot would have the nose sticking out about 2 inches into the lane and a lot of her neighbours are idiotic cocks of drivers. Before buying I checked wheel base length and ya the long box is an extra 10inches long.

I've heard a few say they wish they had a short box on tight trails lol.

But otherwise ya long box would be way better.

True man. I do love the SB on the trails. I've taken this beast STOCK up some nasty roads/passes in Colorado where I only see lifted/snorkeled jeeps and rock crawlers at the top.

I just picked up a topper today and I'm thinking that's going to alleviate my concerns with the short bed as I've effectively doubled the size by allowing me to stack stuff to the roof of the topper. But yeah, the SB really isn't much bigger than the cargo area in a 4Runner.

I've had both '12 DCSB and now '16 DCLB both with a camper. I sleep in my truck and the LB makes a huge difference. It also fits my mountain bike securely and anyone walking by cant see anything inside because of the limo tint (most of my tools and gear are hidden under the bed platform anyways). No rAgrets here

I agree. Everyone claims the short bed double cab looks lopsided but it looks a lot worse with the DCLB configuration.

The access cab with long box looks the best but I wanted 4 doors. The DCLB looks really awkward. The 3rd gen tacomas look so much better with a short box if you are getting a double cab because the front has a longer nose and with the cabin added it makes it look ridiculous with a long box.

2nd gen tacos look fine with a long bed but 3rd gens were designed to be attached with a short box.

I do agree with the look of them. The DCSB looks more proportional than the DCLB due to the trucks width. But once lifted and bigger tires it looks fine.

If off road is your main thing, short. If it's not, long.

Limited wheels, extra rope hooks in bed.
    Long bed...

    Less trips.

Longbeds are for functionality, shortbeds are for serious about offroadin. I realy dont see how the shortbeds looks better

Agreed. The nose is longer than the bed! I got used to it and like it now but the DCLB has "traditional" truck proportions.
