    Anyone got any HVAC compressor capacitors sitting around? The one I just paid $150 for in a service call to get installed (when I could have done it for $10 - I'm a YouTube certified HVAC tech after all) last summer died and I have to keep kick-starting my air conditioner. Of course Lowes doesn't carry them and Home Despot only has them online.

    What size capacitor? Not sure if Ferguson carries all the sizes. I use Insco in G-town for my HVAC stuff. DA Walden just opened up shop down the street from me. And we also use Trane on Metric, and another place I forgot their name. Maybe google HVAC supply, and take the capacitor with you. Remember to discharge it before handling it.

    I'll pay $20 for a $10 part if it's high quality. I won't pay $150 for a $10 part I can install myself.

    I know all about capacitors - we used to play with microelectronic HF radio capacitors at work - charge one up and toss it to a buddy and yell "catch!" Those couldn't kill you.

    A 370v 45/5? Not fucking around with that.
