if anybody sees anything wrong please let me know lol, first time doing air bumps.
(and haven't decided if they will be bolt on or weld yet, this is just for test fitting)

well that was a long day lol. only got one side finished. will pull it once more to get it all painted once i go out and flex it up to see how it looks. (and finish the other side lol)
started with some thick wall tubing and some plate to make up the frame mounts. also mounted a flat bracket up on the bed to give it more support.
    IMG_8866.jpg

should hold up well. need to paint next and mess around with the res hose to get it to fit better.
    IMG_8873.jpg

    and the lower mounts.

    Looks good.

Don't worry about the pace of fabrication / work, it's the fit and finish of the final product that matters most. You'll never be happy if you rush something and it turns out less than what you know you're capable of.

One step forward leads to several steps back. My steering column goes right through where the gauge cluster is supposed to be. I mounted it using the dzus tabs that were already there from the old fiberglass dash. Eventually I'll get a new dash, I really fucked up cutting the hole for the passenger side windshield bar. I think on round 2 I should be able to mount it a bit higher by making new mount tabs.

Tomorrow though, it's time for the seats to go in.

Your rack looks good, I like the low profile. I prefer the top of the RTT even with the top of the cab like your design.

Selling my 2015 Tacoma (see classifieds), bought this 2008 off of Copart to build instead.... I'd rather beat up an older vehicle. This will get the Solo 4.5" kit with 4wd I have sitting in the garage, links, cage, four seats... etc..

the 2008 has damage done to the front driver's side only, runs great (drove on and off the trailer), interior is in great shape, cab back is in great shape. I will chop the front sheet metal and then trailer it to a local frame rack just to verify all is good and fix/get it close as necessary.

I've beat on it pretty hard with no issues. 4 bolts per mounting plate for a total of 16 bolts. Bitch to put on but I wanted to be able to take my bed off if I need to.
