Quick stupid question but the Tacoma emblems on the doors, can you pop them off and pop them back in or are they glued on? I'm looking to paint mine and I wanna know if they can be removed and put back on or are they glued on so once they come off they're off.

Use a string and a heat gun. Pull the string under emblem while lightly warming emblem. Takes 2 people one to draw the string under emblem the other to warm it

Dude you live in Arizona. Isn't it always 400 degrees there? No need to warm it up.

What is everyone using to reinstall the emblems once they are painted?? I want to remove mine, paint them with bedliner and reinstall. But I'm not sure what kind of double sided tape I should use. Thanks in advance!

3m makes some stuff that has a red backing on it. Thats what I've always used. Picked it up at automotive paint supply house.

if "peeled/pulled" off they look like shit and you wont like how they look on fresh paint after putting them back on.

use mono fishing line to saw off the glue tape holding them on, then "carefully" use a razor blade to shave all the tape off and any auto store will have the 2 sided "molding" tape to put them back on with.

take note when reapplying that if you follow the ridge on the door it will be crooked since it isn't straight and level and it angles as gets to the front fender. measure up from bottom edge of door to find your straight edge line to place it back on.

they "peeled/pulled" off the emblems to repaint my truck before selling it and I just ended up taking them off and throwing them away, it looks nice "de-badged" with nothing there. I bought an old style 5" tall Toyota sticker for my tailgate off of ebay for $10 and that is the only "labeling" left on the trucks paint

I will doing it this year but I got Vinyl stickers to replace the "chrome" factory letters. the fronts were easy to PlastiDip but the sides and rears are a little tougher due to being so thin and close to the body.
