So you are running an AutoZone steering rack. I couldn't remember. Mine just died and it's flinging fluid everywhere. Gotta look into a new rack :annoyed:

Is it worth rebuilding it and replacing the seals?

I have no clue. I'll be taking a look at the current one and seeing about a rebuild. I don't know about the internals and the rebuild-ability. I'll be keeping the ITRs and putting them on the shelf as back ups since the new rack from Toyota comes with ITRs

So, try and paint the fender myself and save the ~$1500 insurance gave me for paint and body or get it done right. ~$1500 gets me a swing out...

0 chance it costs $1500 to paint a fender. Spend $200 to get the fender painted, buy a swing out

Even at a professional swap, I don't see it being more than $400. Could buy a CBI rear hybrid and get a local guy to build me a custom swing out with ladder and what not

I vote you do the prep work on the fender yourself, and then just have Maaco paint it

Will definitely do the prep work myself. Just put the new one on today to be more proactive about getting the paint work done. I'm surprised with how easily the body lines lined up.

So far, I've spend none of the $2500 they quoted me. I'll get Tundra brakes and a steering rack with ITRs under $850 so I'll have a good amount to still play with. Maybe Savage bumper, still not sure yet

I honestly like that more than the current one. Even though the tube wouldn't match my front, I still really like it. If it was still available, I'd order it in a heart beat
