What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I ran 20% on my 4Runner with 50% on the windshield.

I truly believe that if you keep your vehicle clean and don't drive like an asshole you won't be hassled.

 

Thanks for the info. I plan to go with the max. allowed. Might as well if i'm going to tint my windows.

 

I want to tint my windows because i hate the feeling of a stranger or strangers looking at me while i'm stopped at a light or parked. Plus it would be nice to have more privacy everywhere i go.

Ya I have always had limo
all round and 35 up on my windshield. Had that on my last 3 cars. Got pulled over for speeding with the windows up and not a ticket. That's not saying I haven't had my shear of run ins and tickets. My Corolla I had 4 tickets all fix it tickets but had to retint the windshield every time. O well. That's why u have a friend that's a tinter. Lol but it's like u said don't do dumb shit and u will not have a problem. O and my truck now just has limo. No windshield tint. It feels wired with out it. But Vegas is hot so I think the cops understand a little more then say places like Cali

I checked the Hornblasters site and gave them a listen. Yes, they do sound like a train. But I want something that sounds more like an 18-Wheeler.

FWIW, I had a similar arrangement on my Tundra (1-gen) and mounted the horns to the frame under the driver's seat area. Mine faced forward and I had no trouble with dirt, water, etc. getting in them. Even forded a rather deep stream once and still had no problems.

A friend of mine works for a concrete and gravel company. I passed him on the highway once and he blew his air horns in a cement mixer then I blew mine. Mine were way louder than his.

 

Sorry, I just realized I didnt answer the first part of your question, It is a bedrug kit. I trimed the part of the rug where the stiffener went and velcroed it back in place.

 

I have a 2.7L 2015 prerunner I am running 35x12.50xR17s on a 6 inch lift. East coast gear supply said I need 4.88 gears to get more of my power back and that with a 4.56 I am not going to see much difference. My biggest concern is what kind of gas mileage I am going to get cause it seems like all the posts I see with 4.88 gears it will be running at high RPM's at 70 MPH + I do 70, 75 mph 4 days a week to and from work. How bad is the RPM's running a 4.88 gear?

 

4.88 will bring you more back in the power band. You may be a bit higher rpm but less throttle is needed to get moving at that speed which can save gas.
