I noticed it the other day driving my GF's Elantra. If there was a cop behind me he probably would have thought I was drunk from swerving in the lane to constantly avoid potholes.

    Nopeeeeee... I'm working 7:30-6:30 today.
That's what I do in the STI. The 18" wheels are too expensive to fuck up

Same with the GF's Mustang. I think the reason they sharpened up the handling on the new models is so that you can dodge the occasional surprise pothole in the apex of a fast corner without wrecking, lol

Which is saying a lot because Mustangs are marginal at best with anything other than a straight line lol.

This thing handles amazingly! The faster you go, the harder it holds. I have to go through 2 rotaries on the way home. Car feels better faster.

First time towing yesterday with the new tune, damn truck is a beast! Plus, 15.5 MPG towing a 2,000 lb enclosed trailer along with all the crap I had in the truck through the Bershires isn't terrible either for that engine.

FJ got me 10-11, so I'd say you did pretty good.

I'm jelly. I get 10 in the taco pulling my enclosed with two sleds. Probably 2700 lbs or so. I'm getting a Ferd before next season for sure.

Considering I was always in the left lane passing the slow pokes in front of me whenever we came to a 'truck lane', I'd say that's great :D

I'll let you know how I do with the camper. With the camper, which weighs in at about 4k lbs, I usually get 9-10 MPG. It has more front surface area than the Uhaul did. We'll see how it does with that.

You haven't driven a new one, then. The IRS has made a big difference in how they handle; the new ones can pull just as much skid pad grip as a WRX, according to C&D. You can't stomp the throttle like with the Rex, but they definitely don't handle like a truck anymore.

I drove the 5.0 GT a while back..

The WRX has a different traction and torque management system than the STI

Im interested in seeing how the ecoboost does pulling the camper this season. It is 4,500 lbs empty, so hoping to get around 10 mpg.

And it made sweet V8 sounds the whole time, too.

You all have me excited to see how I do pulling my 4600+ lb trailer home on saturday. I will be certain to refresh my mpg average on my ultragauge before pulling........Orlando is going to be a very long ride lol. Can't wait to pay off the wife's car then contemplate a Tundra.

Depends on how deep you have your foot buried into the go pedal. I get 9-10 MPG with mine but generally keep it at 65-70 MPH. If I'm on back roads going 50-60 MPH, it makes a big difference. I'm also generally towing through mountains since that's where we like to camp. If 10 is your target, I'd say that's pretty achievable.

    Of course!
Orlando won't be bad, it's a relatively flat tow, not much elevation change. As long as you have your sway control dialed in, you'll be fine but I wouldn't expect to see north of 10 MPG the entire way.

That's really about the only thing I don't love about my truck; when you put your foot down it sounds like a Subaru, haha!

Edit- But, I suppose I get better gas mileage because I'm not constantly pushing the skinny pedal just to hear it make sweet, sweet music. I've been doing that with the '69 since Saturday and I'm pretty sure I'm only averaging about 8mpg right now... :anonymous:
