    All good
2002 and older for green sticker so mines out.
If you have some questions about bikes let me know. Was a parts manager for a dealer for 5 years. Are you thinking 2 stroke or 4?

Oh nice! wait newer bikes don't get green tags :( I don't want to worry about seasons. But I may have to rethink my search criteria. I have been checking on Craigslist for some 250 bikes. I wanted a 4 stroke.
New to dirt bikes so I have no clue. All I ride is my mountain bike haha. But most I would ride is trails. Nothing major, no jumps or going super fast just cruising trails

I come from a more track background, 2002 and older is it for that type of bike. There are newer bikes that are green sticker. I had a brain fart moment haha. If you're going for a trail bike it should be easy to find something newer and green sticker

A 250 4stroke would be a great place to start. I'm a Honda fan myself and the crf250x is a great bike, but lots of options out there.

I'd avoid that RM, just older and you could get something better. The Yz looks good but would be a lot of bike to learn on. The 426 is a big hog, solid bike but very heavy and can be difficult to start. The little crf would be great to learn on but you'll out ride it within a couple months.

One thing I'd like to mention is set aside some money for quality boots, helmet, gloves and goggles. Your pads and gear don't need to be fancy or expensive, but those 4 items you want to be quality.

I'll second what @eccracer104 said about the bikes you listed links to. I would also recommend a pre 2002 bike because you said that you wanted a green sticker bike that is UNDER $2k. That pretty much narrows down your search to older 2 stroke bikes. Personally, I wouldn't buy a four stroke from that era which is why it limits you to 2 stroke only. A decent 4 stroke that is green sticker would be the honda crf-x or the yamaha wrf. I'm partial to yamaha and have a 2006 yamaha wr250f. That's the first year green sticker came out for the yamaha wr250f. My brother has a 2005 wr450f which is the first year green sticker for the 450's. You can probably find a green sticker wr450f close to your price range but not a wr250f. The 450's are a dime a dozen and the 250's are hard to come by. I prefer 4 stroke over 2 stroke because you have instant power. With 2 strokes you have to be in the power band in order to make decent power. 2 stroke hill climbs were deal breakers for me becasue I would have to pin it on a 2 stroke in order to make it up the hill to where you can chug along on a 4 stroke. Figure out your style of riding and that will determine if you should get 4-stroke or 2-stroke. I started off on a 2002 honda 125 2-stroke and loved it... until I rode a 4 stroke.

You might also want to check out thumpertalk. Tons of knowledge about bikes and they also have a classifieds section.

Thank you. I am looking for a 4 stroke. There are more bikes in the low 2000 range I may be able to negotiate to 2000. But right now I'm just looking around. Most likely I'll hit up a dealer with my buddy because he is planning to get his whole family bikes so I may see if the dealer will do a killer deal for like 6 bikes. Also I don't even know how to ride a motorcycle so it will be hard to test drive from Craigslist hahaha!
