Toyota will offer LED's in the mid cycle refresh. They have taken away LED brake lights away before and reintroduced them before on models. The 4Runner is a good example of this. Its just one of the strange things Toyota does.

Who says it has the "best segment braking performance?" If you are towing 5,000 lbs disc brakes are a huge advantage. There is a reason every other car and truck manufacture use's disc in the rear. Toyota just took the cheap route in the 3rd gen because they already had drums and didn't have to redesign anything.

The tests done on the Tacoma have confirmed that it does have the shortest braking performance.

Just wait till the mid model "change" and I'm sure they'll come with cool LED tail lights. Then we'll all be able to buy a pair and swap onto our trucks lol.

There's a reason the SAE J2807 tow rating standard doesn't include braking tests. The trailer's brakes should take the trailer's own weight. Most states have laws requiring trailer brakes above 3500 lb. For long downhill highway sections you should use engine braking.
