green treated for the structure, but yes, IPE for all of the decking and stainless hidden fasteners. The sad part is it only increased the price of my deck by about 40%. Decks in general are just F'n expensive.

Cool. Yup. Any time I do wood outside, I always try to design to minimize fastener exposure on the top side.

    Yep

Use Vycor deck strips over the joist prior to decking install and we use stainless framing nails and hardware on all PT deck framing exposed to repeated "re-wetting"

It was also the estimate provided by the inspector, which tend to run high, hoping you'll just go for it without getting bids from other contractors. I used it as part of my strategy to lower the sale price by 10k. :)

Damn rains continue to hamper my outdoor work (demo the shed).

So today I changed out and uglyazz painted over switch to something nicer. It's really. Or a big deal but I hate messing with electrical stuff. So it's a big deal for me.

I used to fill the hole with clear RTV, you hear them flop around for a little bit til the fumes get to them then they die!

I caught one in its hole on my nice new shed in NOLA. I put three layers of duct tape over the hole. Came put the next day to a hole in the tape. Repeated next day. I put a metal washer with miniscule hole then tape. Sucker eventually died in there. But I heard him buzzing for at least a day.

worse than them....is this POS, I heard something in the garage like someone knocking on the door...I go to the door nothing. I go back into the garage knocking. I look up to where the knocking is and it had pecked a hole through the siding. I climbed up and patched it with a pop can and a piece of wood. Next day it started busting through again about 2 inches away and missed the pop can! Went out side and threw some rocks at it and it finally gave up.
