If you haven't been stuck then you aren't wheelin' hard enough!

Ok, you win... that's pretty impressive. I can't imagine a positive outcome from what you trying to cross there, but definitely some points for giving it a shot!

My buddy and I had just installed a lift and tires on his truck, and I had gotten some AT's with stock suspension, so we were clearly ready to hit some trails. Armed with a single tow strap with hooks on the end, what could go wrong? Well, quite a bit....

We came across this 60' long water/mud hole and he was persistent on trying to cross it, even though his wife and I warned him not to. He got stuck halfway through, and we thought "No big deal, we have this awesome tow strap."

Well, that didn't do a damn thing, except bend part of my hitch. It was slightly hectic, because the exhaust was underwater and we didn't want the truck to die and have water make it's way in. Had to sit there and wait for some good ol' rednecks in Chevys to come pull his ass out. Ended up soaking his interior, and he completely scrapped all the carpet that was in there.

At the end of that trail, is a private little beach, so my buddy was determined to make it through. A month later, I installed my 3" lift and we went back to tackle it again. We made it to the beach just fine, while learning there were three more comparable water crossing, but we had a great time grilling. On the way back, I picked a wrong line, and got myself stuck in the very last hole. Luckily we were prepared with proper snatch straps, and I was immediately out. The unfortunate part is the water was so deep, it got in my cab and soaked my carpet. Had to ride around for a week without carpet while it dried in my apartment.

Exploring on some trails in Missouri. Went through a few small puddles (long, but shallow) prior to this. Just assumed this one would be the same.

Luckily it was a hot, relatively dry weekend and I was able to dry the interior out successfully.

Playing in the sandy river beds behind my house. Started venturing out onto some of the wet sand. Was telling my passenger about how well the truck floats over the goopy soft sand.

Hit the end of the slew and backed up to turn around. When I hit the end of my 3 point turn and tapped the brakes, I started to sink. Locked front and rear; and was unable to get free.

Ended up with a lot of digging and some winching, but got out.

Not as impressive as the others, but stuckage no less. #prerunner problems

I had a running start on this winding hill, made it half way up and loss traction. Back down to try again but went off the trail with my right rear instead. Im trying the hill again next month, this time with a truetrac and a winch.

Nice, I got stuck out there also, had to winch. I think I may have pics on my home laptop. I'll post if I can find them. There are some good places to really get stuck out there.

Found a few pics of my most recent stuck situation... I guess technically I wasn't stuck. I could still move backwards, but due to the slick mud and steepness of the hill I couldn't make the turn that I made when coming up. Only one way I could go and that was up the hill and that required some winching.

    Attach0.jpg imagejpeg_4.jpg

Pics usually don't do justice to steepness.

Found the soft spot while exploring a new route to the other side of the lake bed

Luckily a buddy was close by with his f350 and after a dozen or so yanks with a strap I was out.

Not a Tacoma but at least a toyota. Pulled some kid in a dodge cummins out.

When I asked him for a strap (not getting mine muddy) he handed me a ratchet strap. I was like "nope". So I sold him a old one I had bouncing arouund my truck and pulled him out with it!
    IMG_3611.jpg

He had bald street tires though.

Toyota to the rescue! I seem to always be pulling jeeps out... I was at an OHV park last year with some of the DFW crew and pulled out a jeep stuck in a huge rut..... like 2hrs later, pulled the same jeep out stuck in a different rut.

Being able to winch either way is great!... just a pain to get it out and mount in deep mud or on a steep incline. I always carry rubber boots when wheeling.
