    I christened my skid today.

I definitely pay less attention to my lines now that I don't have to worry about the tcase. Just point it in the general direction and send it.

I'm really liking the new muffler. It's much quiter in the cab and doesn't sound like it wants to blow up when running at 5k going up the mountains.

Header install tomorrow and fixing some oil leaks. I hope all the studs cooperate...

That's what they are there for! Looks like you got up that one obstacle with ease on instagram.

Installed my a LCE header yesterday. Install went pretty smooth. I only had one minor hiccup with one of the studs. The threads managed to get a little messed up and upon reinstalling the nut it froze up and backed the stud out trying to remove it. A little work with a file and it was good as new.

Anyone know why cylinder 1 is much darker than the rest? I'm guessing it's running rich?

My corner light fell out and broke on the test drive

I can't say I really notice much for power gains with the header other than I can pull hills for longer in certain gears. Acceleration wise it doesn't feel any different. Still need to do a run with Torque and see how it compares.

The header also completely changed the sound of the flowmaster. When I first left the house this morning it was much louder and around 4500 rpm it sounded like a tin can with bbs rattling around. Hated it! After romping around in the dunes near redline for an hour it sounds much deeper. It is somewhat quite below 4000 rpm but then it's like someone piped the noise right into the cab and is loud AF. Personally I like it quite and not notice it running. I might have to jump on this sound deadner mod everybody seems to be doing lately.

Today my roommate and I decided to check out the dunes in Walden, CO. Started to run North Sand Dunes Road but ran into some snow and decided it wasn't worth it to continue any longer.

This was the first patch of snow we encountered. A little more than a tire width of dirt to keep the outside tires on but so sketchy with the snow slanting down.
Decided to turn around here. More off camber snow and presumably snow the rest of the way.
After coming off the hill we headed toward the sand dune that could easily be seen from the trail we were on. They were a lot of fun! I wish I had about 300 more ponies though. Was pretty much at redline in low range the whole time, locked front and rear. We didn't air down and the ST Maxx did great in the sand.

Buddy got a little close to this tree. I ran a snatched block up hill from him and down to his rear. I winched keeping his ass from sliding any further down hill as he pulled forward. It worked way better than I would have thought. Wish I would have taken more pics/video.

Have you been there? Probably a great place to test that new suspension out. Made me want LT, turbo and an empty bed lol

Not recently. Need to do some suspension testing though, want something closer to what I'll be doing all summer. Was thinking of heading to K-town and running all the roads around Wolford mountain. Also need to get some firewood.

Let me know when you head out that way. I haven't done any exploring in Kremtucky yet.

I was talking with James Sunday about Sidewinder and he said that you had checked it out and deemed it too much. Was that because of your previous setup or it is too much for an ifs suspension?

I could make it further now with the front locker. That was the limiting factor first go around. Don't know if that would get me through.

Trailhead is less than 5 mintues out of k-town, and you could walk the trail in 10 minutes. Wouldn't mind checking it out again, but still think it would be pushing it for my rig.

There a ton of roads around there, none of which are difficult, that are good for bombing and testing suspension.

Just from the pictures it does look like it would be the limit for my truck. The camber to squeeze around the obstacles with the railroad ties looks a little sketchy.

Let me know if you want to check it out.

Better exploring in that area is south of the Trough road. Found a way last fall to connect State Bridge back to a huge network of roads. Was trying to make it up here on that trip, but ran out of time. Switchbacks to treeline that must be explored!

Along North Dune Road there was a plethora of good logs to cut for wood. The first forty yards from the road has been cut down and is just laying there.

Started a small project tonight. Since I'm not going to run a swing out ever I thought I'd make use of the spare tire carrier. Right now it's only held up by the carrier but I think I'm going to use my OME shock eyes and make a hinge attached to the frame. That should keep things in place a bit better. Not that I see this moving but I didn't plan for the tire carrier to be off to the driver side an inch so if I'm not careful it can hit the shackle. I'd like to find some rubber matting somewhere to line the cross member with to keep from wearing through the cans.

Maybe I should turn one into a water can and aim the exhaust at it. Have a nice hot shower lol

Now that I think about it. I wonder if you took a 5 gallon air tank cut holes in either end, shove your tail pipe though there and welded the tank back up and plumbed it for water and air line how that would hold up. Not sure how hot the tail pipe is but I wonder if it could boil 5 gallons of water and make a steam bomb! Some sort of pressure relief would possibly be needed.

Rust could be an issue too.

Anyone with more education in the thermodynamics area than me tell me why this crazy idea wouldn't work?

This is an awesome idea Ryan! I'm hoping to use that area for an aux tank one day, but I really dig using it for jerry can storage!
