Planning a road trip to Oregon this coming summer
We want to maybe camp on the beach, travel some back roads see the sights....
Any suggestions of what we should see if we're driving 1600 miles from New Mexico
    Thanks

Central Oregon Landcruisers has a Member run and BBQ this Saturday. If you are interested in joining a local group that gets out nearly every single week this is a great opportunity to do so. We are gonna run up trout creek butte to the fire lookout and then have a BBQ at members property on the East side of Bend. We have a few Tacoma members but would love to have more. Run details are here https://forums.centraloregonlandcru...=10&t=80&sid=bdcdc8c88a1c9a9e9d6b8450b04cc6f2 if you have any questions let me know.

Also the details are finalized on the China Hat Clean-Up. Should be a fantastic time while giving back.

How much time do you plan on spending in Oregon? Some things to see for sure are Oregon Caves, Crater Lake, the coast (suggest the southern coast to avoid all of the Portlanders who plug up the northern coast in the summer), eastern Oregon has some awesome places off the beaten path such as the Painted Hills, French Glenn. Central Oregon has tons of lake and hiking trails.

It was "slightly used" to the point where it was upside-down, the cover half rotted, no plumbing, and broken wood. But hey, a real great piece with stunning views out china hat. haha. some jackass probably dumped it out there forever ago

We will have some larger trailers along with a few dump trailers. The forest service is providing 5 dumpsters.

Hey, I was looking at your page and I saw that you would prefer people run a CB radio. Got any members selling a used one? I don't need anything top of the line. Would be nice to have one if I eventually get weekends off and can run with you guys.

We are strong believers in communication when on the trail. At the moment the majority of us run CB's with a few running 2 meters. The majority of us will be making the switch to 2 meter I would say within the next year(I still have to get my Ham license). However, I don't think anyone will sell or get rid of their cb just because we do still use them. But honestly it's cheap to get set up. My whole setup (uniden cb, wire, firestick antenna, and spring) was right under $100.

I have a cobra for you....free. You just need an antenna. And, it's not top of the line. But, it does work.

Awesome thank you very much, how do you power a cb? rookie question. What antenna would you recommend?

Power: you'll need a hamster wheel. That's actually the technical name for the device. Can't make that shit up.
Antenna: there's a cb(ish) shop just before you pull in to the army surplus on third where you can get mounts and antennas. I think it's still there. Coastal farm and ranch has some stuff. Magnamounts are cheap and easy.
I'm in no hurry so whenever you want it, just sitting in the garage collecting dust (it's in the box).
However, I'm leaving for TSF Friday afternoon after work for a trail clean up and likely not back till Sunday.
