Well... I should have listened to @mach1man001 and went to Ballard spring... Went to L&M in lowell since it was closer to me to have them drill holes in the leafs for isolators... Not only did they waste 8 of the 12 plastic isolators I brought them because they drilled the holes too tight. In addition they are no where near center of the leafs on two of the 8 holes they drilled. Not to mention whoever drilled it looks like he did them by hand when they told me they had a drill press that is setup to clamp and hold leafs in place. 100$ cash for the job and now they look horrible - they function and I had to file and redrill two holes because they were so tight the isolator cracked by the time I got home. I'm debating either extracting all the isolator and buying new ones and blowing out the holes to the next size up by hand or just leaving them.. Might just leave them - totally lost motivation to acetone them and paint them since they look like a blind man took a hand drill to them.

Lesson learned - if you want something done and done right just do it yourself.

Geeze man, sorry to hear that you had that bad experience for the place you went to. I know Eammon just went to Ballard and had to pay more than I thought it was because the contact I had has left but he still had them do the job and it looked really good. Just so everyone knows a good spring shop like Ballard would be heating up the springs and punching the holes out not drilling them

So I guess my concern with that process is heating the spring steel up... Wouldn't that weaken the leaf?

If I could do it again - which I might in the future because I hate half ass jobs - I'll go this route.

Hardened material (spring steel being one of those) tends to be happier about welding/drilling when it gets preheated.

Yup, you could see where mine had been heated and the backside had a small edge that I filed off before I sprayed them with a little black paint.

Looks like they prefer the hammer method to get the coil over in. Not the uca/pry bar method.

Morning. Surprised at the timing of his committing suicide as well. He got acquitted on the double murders so why do it now? Couldn't take more prison life?

Might finally have sunk in that he's still going to be there for life, without chance for parole. Guy goes from being a world class athlete with absolutely everything, fame, money, etc to living in a 10X12 box. That's a long trip down. Not that he didn't deserve it if he was guilty, but still a long trip. Would be enough to drive lots of people to suicide. :notsure:

Agree. That, and I bet seeing his daughter last week and knowing he will hardly ever see her didn't help going back to his box
