There is def some drama in that camp. 1 point that sticks out to me was the whole Reinhart thing. That didn't go over well with the players, Eichel being 1 of them (Reinhart's roommate). And that stemmed from guys showing up late for team functions etc. Rein hart broke a rule the day after a policy was implemented. So just little things I gathered is there is a disconnect between the coaches and some of the players.

I find that odd, since Disco was very much a player's coach and well-liked here in Pittsburgh. He always kept things loose with the players. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I told my wife before the season ended to watch for a change and a possible reunion with the Sabres and Lindy Ruff. I dont care what they do, as long as they start winning.

 

I don't think so. People kinda ran with that because of the 1 argument on the bench on tv between them, when we sort of imploded in the playoffs. I mean, without a doubt it was time for a change behind the bench, here, anyways. I don't think he was really run out of town by Sid though. Of course, I am not in the locker room but the Pens allow a lot of behind the scenes footage with their local tv and multimedia team, which gives a good insight to the vibe of the team. Plus, Disco helped coach on the Pens junior teams, which word gets around with people who are at the rinks all of the time etc. I dunno, there wasn't a major fall-out that I am aware of.

Look at May/June last year. So many Pens showed up. Then went MIA during the regular season but slowly crept back in once they sealed a spot in the playoffs.

That is cool-looking and creative. I was never a big fan of the promotional items that poke fun at the other team though. Not going snowflake here or anything but I just think it is lame. Philly tries doing that to us, for example. Also, Columbus supposedly had a Crosby crying mask that they were giving out (but I don't think it was the team/arena but a 3rd party? Maybe someone can clarify?). All of our promotional stuff is just 'Go Pens' towels, shirts etc and it is cool. But Philly had a few shirts that were directed at the Pens in at least 1 series. I remember the Sharks had at least 1 item like that also, with the Penguins on an iceburgh with shark circling. It ends up looking even worse when you get to see the other team raise the Cup in front of you, while you are wearing said shirt lol. I know it is all in good fun, but if your team is sweet, then you should be able to promote and focus on your own team without worrying about the opponent. Just my .02
