Yikes Hopefully its not cross threaded and the plug is just seized beacuseif the threads in the case are messed up thats a whole other issue. I had to weld a nut to my diff plug to get it off when it was mangled. You're also going to want to order a new plug before you try and get that one out to save on truck down time

I removed my driver's side A pillar trim and grab handle to run wires for my Gentex mirror, and in the process I stripped the upper grab handle bolt. I ended up drilling it out so I could still run the wires. There's still some material in the threads and I think the bottom of the bolt is still there. Any idea on how to get it out?

I put windshield decals and stickers on the rear window 2 months after I bought my truck in 2014 and also got locking lug nuts

If you start feeding in a new bolt would that essentially push it out?

There's some material left in the threads. If I drill anymore I would destroy them.

Go buy a tap. Best way to do it. Hopefully you can get it started in the old threads.

You're gonna have to get the old bold out though. You may just be able to get a bolt extractor and reverse thread it out and get all the left over shit in one go.

use a tap to clean out the threads, make sure you use oil and clean the tap periodically so you don't mangle the threads, as for the bottom of the bolt still in there, I'm not sure.

Been wanting to change my rear diff fluid for months, and just got around to attempting to do it, but for the life of me I just cannot get the stupid drain plug off. It's almost as if it was welded in. What weight fluid should I be going after?

This is what i used when i changed mine. I used the entire gal for front and rear diff plus transfer case, plus 1 or so of the x2 single quart bottles.
The pump is a must and the washers are recommended. Fast and easy job if you can get the bolts off.

Cool. Since mine's 2WD, how much do you think the rear axle would take? Aren't they the same?

pre-runner and 4x4 rear axles are the same, and take about 2.5 qts. I use 80w/90 gear oil.

I was the last person to wash it in January 2015. Inside is ragged and I cranked it up and sounded like dog ass. It needs some TLC. Trying to buy the rear bumper off of it
