Got it! I booted up Windows via Boot Camp and reformatted the USB disk (FAT32) from there. Toyota and Apple really must not like each other... this whole debacle, no CarPlay and text messages not coming through to the head unit.

You are referring to the Bay Area Metal Fab (BAMF) recessed style grill which is very close to the design of the pro grill. I emailed them inquiring about the lead time as I would like something asap and he said it won't take that long, but didn't give an actual number. I placed an order yesterday so we'll see how long it actually takes.

Here's another recessed grill option. Haven't seen this one on a truck yet.

Got tired of having to remove the skid plate, and getting oil everywhere, so I finally installed the Fumoto Valve. We'll se how it does.

I cut a hole in the skid plate and hung the line through. I have an extra 3' of tubing, so if that doesn't work I'll think of something else.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the oil filter off without making a mess. (2.7L)

5 screws, easy install. Though just a warning, the current plate at the top of the bed is held on by those very same screws so it comes off (ie, fell on my lap to my surprise). I found it easy to lay the piece down in the bed, align the rail to the holes on that plate and place the screws in. Loosely screwed in the middle first, then left and right ones and then the last two. Once everything was attached to the bed again, adjusted the alignment and then tightened it all up. Probably took me longer to find the driver bit then actually installing it (damn security bits! lol).

Saturday! Had some a family emergency come up, so that put a wrench in the plans. All is good and set for Saturday.

It's all in the owner's manual, and tons of how-to posts (here is one).

Got my Hondo knobs today. Pretty cool and not a bad match to the vol knob on the radio:

hey again, just wanted to clarify what Cargo Light is for my future reference. You certainly can't be talking about the third break light, which indeed also has LED backlights to light up the bed of the truck. Some Tacoma's (not sure if it's an add-on), have this additional bed lights on the tub of the truck bed on the walls on either side -- is that what you mean by cargo lights/cargo light switch? I do not have those lights on either side of the inside of my bed, and hence no switch for it. But I suppose I could use the same connector for my need, or tap into the 10amp fuse for the dash lights using my add-a-fuse which is much easier.. Thanks again!
