And the dealership has a ton of tools we don't have. Like TIS and other special tools for servicing your vehicle.

I would add if you only knew half of what a dealership must have and do, you might understand why it costs so much.
As an example, I am being pushed to buy hardware to support a need I don't have because the mfg says I must have it or they won't support me. Never mind the random gifts of special tools I have to buy...

I'm gonna be buying a second hilift for the truck. My brother carries 2 on his Jeep. 1 for jacking and the other for stabilizing.

Did you just swap the battery? No cam unit? Probably just need to drive it . disconnecting the battery without a memory saver blanks the computer. Nothing arched when you swapped the battery?

I feel ya. My dad owned an independent auto shop for 30yrs.

One time tools weren't that uncommon.

    Although it's awesome for me!

I was looking that route. I guess I'll probably buy a 6t bottle jack on Amazon and get a base and some accessories from safejack.

Something to keep in my taco on and off road. Mostly concerned with changing a spare for now.

I saw that and thought the same thing, but it still seems kind of hanky and is it really safe to lift weight off the wheels like that?

Edit: sorry, I don't mean to hijack (heh) this thread with my noob-ass questions. But thanks all for the help.

He stepped on a hot wheels axel last night. Buried that fucker and now his foot is getting infected. He should be good with some antibiotics.
    Thanks for asking
