Box I store my winch and some misc recovery gear, keeps the winch out of the weather and has been used to recover a few jeeps....20170418_170531.jpg

I'll be going to an offroad park in the next few weeks... kinda hoping I don't have any new stuck pics though, taking my wife and she is not a huge fan of getting stuck.

A buddy and I always had a had this thing where we parked in each other's front yards. Well, I came in a little too hot one night and buried my '09. Had to get pulled out by his POS 2001 Dodge. Fuck that was embarrassing. Even worse is somehow his now 8 year old remembers it and gives ME shit about it. He was like 3 or 4 at the time. WTF?!

Man...all these pics of getting stuck in mud. This is one reason why I avoid mud like the plague. I stick to rocks. Can't sink on them. Besides that, doing any work under a muddy truck sucks.

It sucks so much having dirt fall in your eyes months after going through mud and numerous car washes later.

How's it out there in plaster city? Is it mostly quite soft or is it similar to ocotillo wells? Always itching to find a new place to off road :D

I always view mud as a necessary evil, I don't look for it, but I won't generally turn around at it either. My IFS skid likes to collect mud like it was made for it.

When/where you going? You coming to Jambo?

Aint that the truth, I still remember that day in the pic you posted earlier. We were a few trucks behind, we pull up and hear, "danbow's stuck" when there was a non muddy path to the left

I wish I was going to Jambo, maybe next year. I'm probably going to Bridgeport either 4/29 if my wife decides to go(she hasn't been and is a little nervous about it) or on 4/30 if she doesn't. I think there was a few DFW guys going 4/30 and I may try to tag along then.

I have Had my 2012, Trd Sport about a week, paper plates, but i was dying to test out the four wheel drive, and conveniently we had just had a huge rainstorm. Unfortunately I have very very minimal knowledge about off-roading, but decided id just figure it out as I went, first bad decision of the day. about 15 minutes into me and my buddy driving around looking for some empty fields, we came to our second bad decision of the day: a muddy Bowl shaped hole about 30x30ft either way at a random construction site and deciding I needed to drive through it. I pulled in, felt my tires slipping and then immediately pulled back out. Then I decided that mama aint raise no B*** and drove right back in, got about 3 ft from the bank and then lost all traction. Bad decision number 500 was deciding to go mudding with no winch, traction boards or another truck to pull us out. so for about 3 hours me and my buddy dug around like idiots trying to get traction with rocks, tarp and trash wood from the construction site, only to get even more stuck than before. Several of the neighbors came out, laughed at us, told us we were in their prayers, and went back into their houses. By that point it started to get dark, so we called up the most redneck guy we knew, who called his friend, who called his friend, who called his friend, etc. as we tried to gather up about 60 feet of chain to get me out, as the bank was too steep to get another truck on- so we had to go backwards. By the end of it we had about 8 Texas good O'l boys gathered around lighting up my taco with their light bars. While I dug around in the mud and hauled chain, they laughed at how stupid we were, which i couldn't complain about cause A, they werent wrong, and B, they were getting me out. So after a total of 5 hours Some guys brother pulled me out with his F350, which took barely 3 minutes. Definitely learned a lot, got my interior nice and muddy, and lost a lot of my pride. thinking about it now it probably would have taken any slightly experienced person about 10 minutes to get us out if we hadn't made it so much worse and hadn't gone in so unprepared. After this we headed to whataburger, got some dinner, and met a white supremacist out trying to recruit us to his grassroots nutjob hate group.(see pictured, photobombing) By far one of the weirdest nights of my life, but still ended up having a blast- next time going in more prepared and with backup, and hopefully less dumbassery.

I make it a point to get stuck at least once per trip. It's gets bad when it's the last day/trail and I'm trying harder lol

So you don't always get away unscathed from a stuck situation... I ended up sliding into a tree during the recovery at Barnwell
