Guys, got a 2005 taco, AVN 6620 with aftermarket backup camera. I installed it per the directions.

The back up camera works, but i have to change into another program to listen to music. Then if i back up, it does not come on automatically?

    Any help????

    thanks

Also this unit is not saving my Sirius channels after I turn kep off?

OK I got it figured out after 8hrs...

AVN 6620, I have the after market backup camera $100. This one plugs in the axillary in connector plug. however it would not pick up reverse. I could only program it to come on first thing, then after i would have to change it to music or what ever. Then when you wanted to back up again, push click and then you have it on.SUCKS.

The Eclipse camera fits into there special plug made just for it. It then will work when you place in reverse, weather you are watching movies, radio etc...I don't think it would come back on while driving even if you wanted it to...Not sure since I don't have it. But when i hooked mine up in its special little hole/plug, worked on Reverse on off etc....but not just to watch hot chicks riding my bumper!!1 Or look at my new Hensley Arrow Sway control hitch on my Travel trailer....anyway

I used a spare unused connector, took two wires out with the metal clips, Shrink wrapped the metal so it would not ground out on wires next to it, since I don't have the right plug for the hole.

AVN 6620 stck camera hole, top left is Pos (center wire in RCA set up) btm right is grnd wire. Now this got the after market camera to work when I put it in R, took out of R and it when back to last program..nice! anytime I put it in R it goes to back up vid, now i don't have to dick with trying to put it on camera when I am trying to park in city. AUTO.

Now this would not allow it to be on while moving or any other way. I still want to push Vid and have it come one while driving, sitting, what ever.

SO I cut the yellow video plug wire from the aux connection where the aftermartk had to be hook too. I then spliced the pos wire, cut the ground off as I didn't need it, then soldered the POS with the other wires coming from the Stock set up. THIS allowed the camera to come one when ever I want too; driving down the road to check my load or yes check on hot chicks behind me. AND IT automatically comes on when in Reverse and back to the previous program, also it still plays sounds when it goes in Rev!!!!

This has been killing me since i installed it. NO need to tap the rear brakes, just tap the Rev wire(drivers kick) for the AVN, the back up camera ground to A ground in radio harness is good, and the 12+ to one of your stereo 12volts. Really easy if you know what to do. I cut and rewired to rear brakes, removed the reverse wire, tied it in another spot, damn...

Also my Serius sat module was wired in to a Pos + only wire when the car is powered up, SO it was not saving any of my settings on the Satalite.

PM if you want more details, it is late and am crashing..>!!!!

Man I love it this way, hit R and it turns on in seconds, lets me concentrate on parallel parking and such. And if I want to watch behind at anytime I can. I am stoked over it all day!! lol little things. Now if I can get the alarm to do the things I want I will be happy, well and get rid of the wheel shack from my tires!

I have the same unit and don't want to spend $120 for a back up camera, dame Eclipse ones are hard to find anyway. Can you tell me how you added an after market camera to your unit and how you wired it up to come on in reverse and anytime you want, pics would be most helpful if you have some. Tried to PM but it wouldn't let me.
    Thanks,
    Britt
