Just finished up my manual door to power door retrofit.

The right hand door panel were so beat up (since the donor truck sustained the most damage to the A pillar and pass. side in the rollover) The panel needed a lot of work. I ended up needing to bend the weatherstripping back into shape + screwing it back into the old plastic welds with micro screws, replacing the door handle, but the armrest was beyond repair.

Toyota wants $75 for a new armrest!

That was outrageous so until I find a new door panel I braided some paracord I had laying around the garage to make a makeshift handle.

Just finished wiring up my Gentex 313 mirror with auto dim, HomeLink, Outside Temperature, and Compass. Ran the wiring through the A pillar and down behind the integration module.

Anyone know where I should mount the ambient temperature sensor? On most cars it's on the front radiator support dead center but I was thinking of mounting it under the radiator behind the license plate. Any thoughts?

Did the same thing and my friend bought a 2002 4Runner. It's better on the trails than my Taco. I kind of want a 4runner now.

Took my dash apart in preparation for some new switches. Going to fix one of my out dash lights while I'm in there.

Also does anyone know what this is for in the center dash?

I mounted mine behind and kinda below the drivers marker light. There is already a few holes there that the sensor snaps into nicely. Makes for a nice tidy wire run too.

Did your mirror come with the sensor? My mirror is having some trouble reading correctly. I went to pick-n-pull and took the ambient temp. sensors off a full sized Ford SUV, and a GM sedan. When I try both of them it gives me inaccurate readings (the most common one is it flashing "-40" and "ICE", and I live in California where it never gets that cold - it was like 75 degrees outside).

I think it's something about impedance? The mirror came off a 2011 Nissan Titan so hopefully a random Nissan sedan (or whatever they have at pick-n-pull) would have a sensor that worked.

Mine does read correctly, I pulled a few different temp probes at the time so I would have a spare. I got everything from GMC Yukons I think. Also isn't there a calibration process? I know there is for the compass, but I don't remember if I had to setup the temp or not as well.

You are correct. Tested it this morning and it dims. Maybe it went to the factory radio for dimming? Either way, glad I found it so I can wire my switches to it too. Thanks!

What damage would be caused when hammering in the axle shaft?

    Story...
Had my axle seal changed by someone else. Instead of sliding the axle shaft back in, the guy hammered it back in.
My axle shaft is slightly bent but driveable.
I'm unsure to what I should replace.

Just get a new axle shaft?
Replace the diff gears and shaft?
