I call everybody kid, kid. Dude was in his early 30's. Had this chewed up and rusted out 02 WRX with the stock wheels, WRX scoop, more rust, rocker accents half falling off, and that big ol' wang on the trunk with the STI badge. No fog lights or anything.

 

Same haha. 10 months cig free! Woo!

On Saturday I installed two new half shafts, lower control arms, and shocks. Now I just need a wing for the rear bruh

 

Need to do a lower control arm rehaul in the future...

I do that to lancer owners all the time - in fact I took my wing off for a year and trolled people in sleeper mode.

Ah was gonna say I have upper ball joints from moog laying around that I never put in. Now have uniball uppers

 

Damn nice. Those lowers use uniballs or ball joints?

 

I had a buddy that did that a while ago. He bought a new STi but didn't want the wing. Someone else was buying the same color WRX so they swapped trunk lids. He also put fog lights on his so he didn't have the STi covers on the front bumper either. It was a nice sleeper.

 

Gotta change the skewp too, to make it totally WRX mode.

 

No I don't have a press but John's right, as long as you ordered a "bearing assembly" like from the NJ or AL guys you only need to unbolt and re-bolt the new one on. If you go to Toyota and get a wheel bearing they are only going to give you a bearing itself and that has to pressed onto the flange. Most people just get the assembly

 

In the past 4 or 5 pages you guys have discussed butt stuff, vaping and Subaru WRX's an awful lot... I am justifiably concerened...

Yep they're already assembled bearings with the hubs - guess I should be good then. I'll have to worry about the LCA adjustments when I'm back from my trip.

 

I believe you can lump all three into the 'butt stuff' category.

 

The Subaru's definitely sound like butt. I've never cared for the boxer 4 exhaust coupled with the WRX and STI fart cans.

 

If you don't have one get a dead blow mallet. If the bearing doesn't sperate from the spindle give it a few wacks and it should pop off.

Uniballs! Still breaking them in. They're stiff as hell... But they're getting looser! Ride is better than it was, but honestly not by much. However the articulation is pretty incredible.
