Another BHLM/Retrofit thread - My finished product

I'd like to forego the halos and grab the switchback DRL boards from diode dynamics when I do mine.....same projectors as yours though. Interested to see some night shots when you get them.

 

Switchback DRL boards look awesome I'd imagine, I haven't seen them before. I'll get some night shots showing the output!

Here are some night time shots, cutoff is nice and crisp and output is awesome. Might have to tweak the aiming a bit, but you get the picture.

 

Getting up the balls to do this. OP, where did you grab your projectors from, TRS? Pretty easy install once the headlights are opened up? I know the s/b drl board I want to do is just a three screw remove and replace job.

 

Yeah man go and get it! I got everything from Lightwerkz, at the time they had a 15% off promotion if you signed up for there email list. I thought I saw it still active the other day but i'm not certain. The new projectors are the same bolt pattern, you just have to trim the housing to make room for the high beam solenoid. I did it with a Dremel and reinforced cutting wheel, cut like butter. I cant wait to see the switchback DRL boards! Wish I would have looked into them prior to doing mine.

 

I'll check into Lightwerkz....hopefully it's still running the deal. I might hit you up once I start digging into them if that's cool!

you're shipping yours to them or you're gonna order the parts and do it yourself?

 

If you're talking about the DD s/b drl, it is not a 3 screw remove/plug and play. They lead you to believe that, but it is not the case.

I am doing the Diode Dynamics install this weekend, and will hopefully post the wiring diagram. DD didn't provide any sort of wiring diagram to tap into the drl/park/turn signal. I've been exchanging emails with them this AM, and this is a direct quote "Unfortunately we have not yet had a 2016 model in to confirm the exact wire colors you would need to tap into (DRL, parking, turn signal power, ground)"

 

I bought the morimoto d2s 4.0s, osram CBI bulbs and everything at thanksgiving from TRS at 25% off. I'm gonna send them to Lightwerkz and also get the smoked side marker, lenses etching and painted internals in the projector.

Yea...I was very surprised. Heaven forbid they do a video, photos, and guarantee fitment, but didn't document anything leaving the customer to be the guinea pig. I guess they're just selling components, and not the integration.

Yes it did. Maybe they did that on purpose, if they showed having to tap into 3 wires, they'd probably sell less
