Same backspacing as your old F5's- 3.5". But these are 16 x 9 (vs. 16 x 8), so 1" wider. The issue is that the sides of my bed are about 2 - 3" narrower than the outside of the stock fender flares. Pizza cutters were sticking 2" outboard.

The HC bumper wings were cut and brought in so the corner is 90°, instead of turning out to match the flares.

There's 3/4" steel tubing lining the rear wheel wells, so I can rivnut and attach some rubber flares. The front won't be so bad after the stock flares get trimmed and reattached.

Still, I'm 2nd guessing this decision, way past the point of return.

Crap. Yeah I can play the radio and CD's, but no sound to either. Time to find a stock JBL amp.

Or someone who knows how to work on those tiny surface mount capacitors. But it does sound dead to me. The antenna is probably a coincidence.

do you have an aftermarket head unit?

If so just wire a new amp in its place with a new power wire, remote wire and run RCAs from the HU to the amp. Easy.

Is what im doing to replace my shitty JBL OEM amp.

I'll start one today. Instead of a description and backstory, I'll just add pictures of my truck and cut & paste everyones dick/ balls related doctor stories in this thread.

I want to find a fairly remote area I can camp out in East Oregon/West Idaho, somewhere around there. Trying to avoid the huge crowds though. I can't even imagine what the Grand Tetons will be like that week.

This is @PattyP. He doesn't post on here much, but he uses a lot of threads for his rig. He's looking to get on some of the TW trips more often though. We just got back from running South Coast Ridge Road & Hollister SVRA this past weekend.

No, but I do have one sitting in my office right now. Also have my old amp from my 4runner. Might just have to get it installed sooner than later.

There looks like there are a bunch of spots, but I'd want to see if I could hike to the top of Mt Jefferson.

    Check out the build
Everything looks good, but the front bumper might need to be trimmed back a bit more.

I read they've bumped their permit to 30,000 people. thats going to be insane, thats almost half of Burning Man, and this site has never done anything like that before, and has ZERO facilities. that location is served by a 2-lane forestry road about 25 miles long from near Prineville.

For bonus fun, that weeklong EDM/Trance party is within 5 miles crowflight of hte Oregon Star Party, which has been in the same place on the new moon in August for the last 20 years, this year OSP bumped their permit to 1000 (traditionally its been 200-400 amateur astronomers), and sold out in an hour. OSP shares that same road and access (AND DUST) has always been a problem there.
