Ride quality should actually be better than stock. The fact that the Foxes are meant for a 2-3" lift should give you a bit more travel but I don't think they would necessarily be stiffer.

I would be concerned that the model number for a 2 -3" lift might be too long for stock height. You could end up bottoming out the shock and ruining it. I see on that page they also offer one for 0-1.5" in lift. That would be a better fit for yours.

Yes, that would be ideal the 0-1.5, but there's a pair of 2-3 for sale locally to me.

That's why I'm asking, I didn't think about the bottoming issue, hmm, I wonder if the shock on stock height would take away an inch or two of travel.

    You w
You would gain droop with the longer shock but the shock will become you bumpstop on the compression side unless you put in a longer bump stop to offset that. Then you will be limiting up travel quite a bit.

    Hey guys,

I'm running an Icon Stage 4 kit on my 2016 TRD OR. I'm trying to see if there is a way to tell if I have the standard or extended length coilovers. I'm running TC UCAs, so I'm assuming I have the extended lengths, but is there any way to confirm?

All stage 3 and up ICON kits use extended travel coilovers.

My man! Good to know, that's kind of what I figured. Just wanted to make sure. I already need to swap out my rears so I didn't want to have to change it all out!

Ok. Help me understand why your front coilover length has to do with your rear shocks?

Oh, they're different situations. I'm upgrading the rears because I have an RTT inbound and a rear plate bumper, and I'll be running the Deaver U402 expedition springs. I wanted to make sure I didn't have to change the front out at all, as I'm adding a front bumper [and new 700# springs] and probably TC LCAs and didn't want to limit my downtravel.

So what I am gathering the Icon stage 4 is a good starting block for a lift then add stiffness as you add plate? (been reading the convo for a bit)

It's definitely more than a good starting block -- I'd say it's one of the better options. It's on par with the King Spring systems and I think the only significant advantages that the later Icon Stages add are the CDC valve that allows you to adjust how the ride feels. The Toytec Boss kits are also a good start if you're looking for a bolt-on higher end kit.

Thanks, I'v been hunting "searching" for an answer like that. Would you say its a pretty complete set up? It seems almost too easy to me from an install point for it to have so few parts.

It's about as complete as you can get -- it's rear AALs, rear shocks, front shocks, and upper control arms. The only things you will want to add is a diff drop to reangle the front diff, and bump stops if you'd like. I also found that my rear shocks didn't quite fit with the extended rezzies and I had to cut the frame shock mount slightly [like 0.75 in^3] to run the hose. Otherwise it's fairly straightforward to install.

No prob, there are a ton of much smarter people than me in this thread. Toytec is where I ordered my stuff from and they have diff drop kits there. They're also super helpful and responsive, both via phone and PMs on here, Good luck man!

Ok that makes more sense now. That is quite an upgrade you are doing. Make sure to post up pics. I want to see it all when you are done.
