What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Just got my rings from @mrproduxn, great addiction to the radio knobs!

 

Got some work cut out for me this weekend.

Fox 3" dsc fronts, icon aal, fox bumpstops, katzkin leather interior, pelfrey front bumper and skid plates and bamf cab mount chop plates.

Gonna be busy weekend of cutting shit up.

I had a custom body shop paint the tailgate and had decal made to match. They put a little pinstripe in. $200 to be painted.

 

I got a better one! How about "Show Your Wife Your Credit Card Statement"?

 

Is the TRD emblem factory aluminum or plastic? Trying to decide which way to go when the V6 emblem goes in the trash.

 

Plastic I ordered off eBay it came from Vietnam period but it's perfect

 

No Hawkeye edition emblems available? Had to settle? LOL

Finished fitting the new shocks, Bilstein

B8 5100's front and rear, front took 6 hours, rear took less than 2 (for obvious reasons)

 

Fully remove the anti roll bar lol, it just gets in the way. i also had to make 2 runs to get tools and I'd never used spring compressors before so I was overly cautious. My first time working on a vehicle with such a big job. And I crushed my little finger which required a 15 minute sit down haha

What did I do to my 3rd Gen today? Traded it on a 2017 F150 FX4 Sport 3.5 EcoBoost with a 10 speed. Smooth as buttah. I tried real hard to like the Tacoma and didn't really experience a lot of the issues some folks are having but at the end of the day this engine and transmission just plain suck. Averaged 17 mph in an underpowered truck with a useless 6th gear. Lost $$$$ and should have done more homework prior to buying the Tacoma but I had to just cut bait and move on.

 

I am not ashamed to say I felt light headed and nearly threw up lol, still missing a big chunk of flesh.. springs/shocks are heavy kids!

That is a nice truck. I have had both Fords and Toyotas the past 10 years. Ford is top notch quality but just too big for my taste and needs. I sold a 2014 F150 and a 2008 Prerunner to buy my 16 TRD Sport. There were a few days that, having regrets, I was shopping the web for another new Ford. Fortunately my 16 has all the bugs out and I love it. Best wishes on your new Ford. You bought the best engine available. Love my Yota but can't say I am not just a little jealous.
