    $5100 off MSRP?

That ranks as one of the best deals I've ever seen reported here.

Can you post a pic of the full sales sheet?

Just picked up my 17 DCSB off road with Predator tube steps, exhaust tip and all weather mats, MSRP $40,337 for $36,579. With taxes and fees it came out to around $38,600.

I know some people order a truck to get exactly what they want, but...
A truck sitting on the lot belongs to Toyota, but the dealer is paying interest on that truck until it sells.
It's on consignment. It just makes since that the dealer would be willing to make a better deal on the truck sitting on the lot that is costing him interest every single day than one he orders for you.

Yes. In theory the longer a vehicle sits on the lot the better deal you get.
Typically Toyota manufacturer gives them 60 days to sell the vehicle before interest starts kicking in and after 60 days if the truck isn't sold the dealer gets agressive trying to move the new truck as it's costing them intrest.
I bought my truck in November and the build date on the side panel of the door said it was built in November 2016. The truck was only sitting on the lot for a few days and I only got $2k off MSRP. Paid $34,830 and it stickered for $36,875.

If I looked at the door panel and found a truck that has been sitting on the lot for 3+ months according to the build date I could have got a better deal but TRD off road models were flying off the lot at the time.

My 54 year old 5'4" 125lb wife will tell you that Bed Step is the most outstanding piece of engineering on the truck. Certainly NOT stupid.

First post here, 2nd Tacoma Purchase (My first is a 2006 TRD Sport Double Cab Long Bed 2x4)

2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 Double Cab Long Bed in Black
Just tow package and a couple little extras
    MSRP: $37707
    Invoice: $34630
    Paid: $35000 before TTL

For a slightly hard to find long bed double cab 4x4, this was the best deal I could get after a few weeks of searching in SoCal (San Diego)

You also got a great interest rate. I've been seeing here on TW some people had to pay above MSRP in Cali...good ol' supply and demand.

I didn't get a great deal on mine, but I got a "good enough deal" to make it worth my while. They aren't giving any of these trucks away.

I still think they are the best looking trucks on the road and far better than what I had.

Starting my phone call w/ email follow up bid campaign on Tuesday here in SoCal, and will be selecting a bid to either purchase from local inventory, or place a factory order with at end of week. Have a list of about 20 dealers I'll be calling to see if they'll participate. Will be branching out as far as Bakersfield, down to Oxnard, and possibly San Diego. Will be including Longo Toyota and Carlsbad Toyota as well. If all goes well, I'll be posting up the final deal and numbers by the end of the month.

Any SoCal dealers I should be sure to include?

This will be great to follow. When you think about it you are doing the dealerships a service by helping the really hungry dealers get some business. The effort will be worth it.

I didn't get a good deal either but I bought my 2017 when they first came out. Paid $34,830 pre-taxes and fees and $37k out the door.
The 2017s been available for 8-9 months now and the 2018s will be available in 4-5 months so dealerships are starting to come down on the price some to clean out 2017 inventory as quickly as possible to make room for the 2018s in August/September.
This is my first pickup truck ever and I am coming from a small compact car. I also think the Tacoma is the best looking mid size pickup in the segment while the other compact trucks are ugly as shit IMO. That is why I passed on a killer deal on a Colorado z71 that I could have got for $31,875. Don't regret spending an extra $3k for the Tacoma at all.

I had a great experience with the guys at Longo.

I researched the market and dealerships for months prior to purchasing my Pro, and the guys at Longo definitely outshine the rest.

Ask for Tony, the internet sales manager.

After 2 days of negotiations with the 4th dealer I visited...not sure if someone is getting fired over this deal.

MSRP was $32,900ish, brought it down to $27,900.

    I'm paying $235.00+tax ($17ish) for a total of $252.89 per month.
$1,100.00 for inception, includes tag transfer (total out the door)
    18,000 miles per year
    3 years oil changes included
    Dealer provided rubber mats

2017 double cab white SR5- automatic transmission
OEM black 16" wheels (upgraded the tires to 265/70/16's
    Tow hitch
    Factory tinted glass all around
    Bedliner
    Regular entune radio
    Fog lights
    Bed liner

All the other dealers I went to wanted $350.00 per month plus $2500.00 for a much less equipped taco.
