Nice truck and bike! I'll chime in with a vote to leave your truck as is for now and learn what it's capable of. You'll need money to take girls on dates in that thing, anyway, and they won't be able to get in if it's jacked up!

I am also 16 with an 05 Tacoma and I just put some money into a 3 inch Old Man Emu suspension lift running along side a 1 inch BL. Would totally recommend if you are going to be doing four wheel driving. If you are not then I would look at doing a 3 inch pro comp lift. They are much cheaper and are great for road driving and very mellow offroading. I would also look at maybe doing a spacer lift. My friend got one done on his jeep and it was only about 500 for parts and labor. He hasn't had any major problems and we do some pretty shecky stuff. If you are going to be looking for tires I would totally recommend doing some Nitto Grapplers! They are super affordable and quiet for being a beefy tire!

    Agreed.

Spacers are fine to mall crawl. Since you plan to off-road your truck I'm sure you'd appreciate a suspension that actually improves the suspension so I'd skip the spacers and get at the very least a set of 5100's. It won't be a trophy truck, but it will be plenty capable.

Your only 16 once, theres time for saving your nickels later in life. If you have the money, do a little research and buy some SH*T for your truck. Just don't finance anything.

EDIT: I know thats what you planned on, I was more responding to some of the other replies suggesting you wait. Thats no fun.

Congratulations on getting such a cool truck at that age. Consider doing the front end face lift ;)

if I were to get a set of 5100's would it be better to get new coils or could I keep the stock ones?

That's awesome, man! It sounds like you're no stranger to hard work and saving up for something that you really want.

Like others have said, it's better to "buy once, cry once" and get the parts you really want. Don't settle for something now, just to spend more money replacing it later. And I'm wondering the same thing as @orezona:
Those tires look REALLY bald!!! If you're going to replace your tires right now because of that, try to find some good quality, inexpensive A/T tires (yes, contradicts what I just said about not settling, but it's in the interest of safety more than anything). I'm running Dynapro ATM, and they've been all-around fantastic tires so far (like you, I do very mild off roading). Learn your truck, it's quirks, capabilities, and potential first. And spend some time lurking here on TW. By the time you figure out exactly what you want and what you'll use your new rig for, you'll have more than enough money to get exactly what you need (and then some). And I'm pretty sure at the rate you're going, that'll be really soon.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld :fistbump:

No lift with some bigger Toyo Open Country ATII tires (265/75/16):

    FullSizeRender (8).jpg

I figured this will be perfect for all my needs unless I plan on doing some major rock crawling. If you're planning on just getting to some trails for your bike you probably don't need a lift.
