Got the new Samsung galaxy s8+ today. Tested out the wireless charging. And it works GREAT! NO issues with it at all so far. Just figured I'd share with the TW. Since all of people seem to have issues with the charging pad and what phones work and don't work.

nice, my s6 is ok on the charge pad, does some times stop if its not in perfect spot. I am getting a S8 soon though as I just cracked my camera glass and the lense is fucked too. Just paid the phone off to, but I can upgrade and only pay 30 a month so fuck it why not.

Just got my S8. Gonna try it also. Hopefully, it charges fast compare to my S6.

Define "just fine"...my note 5 charges wireless just very very slowly. Maybe 1 or 2 % every 10 to 15 minutes

Been wanting a new phone, hoping the S7 will go on sale since since the 8 is out.

It was on Flash sale a month or two ago. My sister got it for half price. That was with Tmobile however not sure it was exclusive to them though. I'm still on the Note 5 and not ready to jump until new Note comes out.

EDIT: I'm still tempted to make the jump to the S8+, it is one sharp looking phone but as dumb as it may sound I actually have become accustomed to the Stylus and being able to screen write on my Note 5. There's really no good reason to update other than I just am "bored" and ready for something shiny and new. This Note 5 is probably the longest I've ever had one cell phone.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
i read they are dropping the note name and just having the galaxy and galaxy plus now

I have AT&T and the best deal they had on a S7 is buy 1 get 1 free but that does me no good.

See I heard that was a rumor and they'll still be coming out with a new Note in the 2nd half of 2017. http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-what-we-know-so-far

Will there be a Galaxy Note 8?
Yes. In an interview ahead of the company's Note 7 investigation press conference, Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh told Reuters that a Note 8 is indeed in the works.

"I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8," Koh said, adding "We found through the investigative process, we knew there are lots and lots of loyal Note customers.""

Drove to dinner tonight, and the charging pad works great. The plus version of the phone doesn't leave to much wiggle room but it still fits good with room on the top and bottom. Moved the phone around the little that you can and it doesn't seem to have a need to be on "sweet spot". It just charges like it's supposed to. So far I'm really happy with it. The phone is GREAT so far as well!

I would hate to see you go without that new phone so I will step up to the plate for you and make the sacrifice to take the 2nd free phone. It's what friends do...

I have never owned anything but iPhones and the wife and kids all have iPhones. I guess you either like Apple or the Droid based phones but I am tempted because of the wireless charging. I'm sure Apple will have it soon but that S8 looks nice. Would it make sense for me to change if the whole family is committed to iPhone?

i got off the apple tit like 3 years ago, no major diff for me. I have loved my Samsung s6. Only reason im getting a S8 is because I dropped my s6 and broke the camera on a rock.

I just use Apple because I'm used to it but I have also heard that group messages won't work between iOS and Droid. If it did I would have been gone years ago too. I've never tried Droid but if it's simple and intuitive then I may try it just for the ease of wireless charging.

well i think no service charges for messages anymore. Its all unlimited talk and text so group messages well Imessage I guess was free. Not sure. You can still send a group text. I never do that so not sure. Either way phones are all legit these days.

I LOVE my Mac book pro, but hate IPhones. Never really got into liking them. Played around with them a lot but I prefer android based phones myself.

I don't like the feeling of being trapped. Unfortunately that's the way Apples propriety makes me feel. The way they integrate all of your data and such makes it difficult to leave and there are no other options than what they provide for their "system "
