typical AC/ heater fan resistor problem and fix?

    2005 Tacoma TRD off-road
    RevTek & 5100s. Blocked on rear. K&N intake. Fog light mod. Flashlight holder. LED interior lights.
    So I have the typical problem with this resistor and wiring harness. I replaced the resistor, and cleaned the plug. It worked once, then quit working again. So I re cleaned the plug and applied electrical grease. It worked for maybe a week then quit working again. We have had similar problems with our John Deere tractors, we solved the problem by shoving a piece of tin foil in the plug with great results. I did the same thing with my Tacoma, and the fan has worked flawlessly for 2 weeks now. My question is, am I going to do any damage by doing this? It's a redneck fix I know, but it works!:rofl:

    Replace the plug. It is a well known issue with sloppy terminals. I have to add that Dielectric grease is an insulator and does not conduct current. It is used for sealing moisture out of connectors.
