Got a 09 Tacoma 2wd, do you guys recommend installing a rear locker? What the best rear locker out there? How much does it usually cost? Estimates? Thanks

If your going to be going off road than yes, a winch and a locker along with some good mud terrains will allow you to go to some places a 4x4 can't (although obviously 4wd is much more convenient)

I had a 2wd ford ranger with and ARB locker and a winch and that thing would go almost anywhere with a running start.

I sold it for a 4wd eventually because I was spending too much time off road not to have it, if yoour only going off road occassionally and not planning on going rock crawling the 2wd can be very capable

Look into ECGS they have fair prices for an ARB locker

All-in, without re-gear, and ARB should be doable within the $15-1600 range.

My question is why does he need a locker? Is he off-roading? And got stuck! Or just because it's cool to lock. Sure it cost 1500 but why do it? I rather spend that on hookers and cocain.

I would hope he is planning on off roading if he is considering a locker.

Might a Detroit locker suit his needs? Cheaper I believe.

Or, if he goes off-roading around Barstow, he can get the locker for $1500 and a budget hooker.

I live in Reno, there is a place down the road from my house where on Wednesdays they have BOGO Hookers and lockers.

Lock it up front /rear and you'll be surprised how easy it'll be off road

All my old jeep rock crawlers were locked front / rear and a low geared t/case or t /case doubler

Only if it comes with a Detroit hooker. Those may also be cheaper than the Barstow variety.

I rather spend 1500 on my wife than hookers and drugs! And I go off road in my 2wd tacomas, I was just asking about options on installing rear lockers for my truck

Lol 2wd + locker + winch can go more places.. Cool story bro.

You sure you don't have the e-locker or limited slip(atrac)?
ECGS will ship a complete built 3rd. Idk about shipping to sammich Island though.

Didn't say it can go more places, I said it will allow you to go some places a 4x4 can't which is true.

Maybe a 4x4 without winch or locker.. But then still a 4x4 will do it more gracefully.
