When I was car shopping, I was looking for a 14-15. Here in Hawaii, the people selling them were asking near what a brand new 3rd gen cost. I went with a 3rd gen and haven't regretted it yet

That was my experience as well. I was looking for used Tacomas and all I could find were priced the same or higher than a brand new one.

    Turd gen master race.

Ya, I will admit I look at old tacos. At first it's nice looking truck, then the thoughts go to, dam my truck really is nice, glad I didn't settle for the 2nd gen. :ohsnap::infantry:

I literally almost bought a third gen. until a mint used second gen showed up for less than half the price. Couldn't say no.

Can't get over the girly look and whinny V6, maybe 4th gen will be a better option. A turd will always be a turd no matter the dress it has on. The 3rd gen guys be like this anyway :pout:

Anytime my wife is in the truck with me and we see a third gen, (which I think look good:anonymous:) I will point it out to her and she always says "they look okay but your truck looks way better". :bananadance:

I still don't like the square lines on the third gen. They do look better lifted.

Love the 3rd gen exterior and interior. Drivetrain not do much. But every manufacturer is new trans issues with all the new tech out.

I was happy to find a clean 2012 for under $19k. Most this year and up at going for $25k.

Same old same old. When Gen 2's first came out, all the Gen 1 owners bitched and moaned about them. Dealers could hardly give away Gen 2's at first. I know, I bought one in May of 05 at a substantial discount. Still own it. Have watched as Gen 2's steadily took over the mid-size truck world. I expect same will happen with Gen 3's eventually. And then Gen 3 owners will bitch about Gen 4's.

3rd gens are not taking over. I see a lot of longing for the "good old days" of the 1st and 2nd gen.

Why is this thread in the 2nd gen forum anyway?
