Trust me, I'm glad I grew up in the 80's and early 90's and not when you did (or should I say still are.) LOL

Thought I'd throw out this question here before making a site wide post about it.

    09 Tacoma dclb sr5
    104000 miles

Was up my firehall, pressure washed my truck tonight to get job site mud off and then washed it. I have been having issues for a week (and made an appointment to have it fixed) with my ebrake sticking.

Finished pulled it out of the garage drove up the side drive to the upper lot parked and went in for 25 mins to let my son play on the fire truck.
When I came out went to back up and the pass side rear tire was completely locked up even tho I didn't have the e break on. Went forward and back a few times also putting the break on and off to try and break it free. Finally it did, drove 20 foot out onto the street where it locked up again. That was fun used 4wheel drive to drag the locked up tire and get it off the road. Just glad it did it then and not while on the highway.

Based on the above I have an appointment with a garage in a week going to see if they can move it up. Should I just have it towed or is there a way I don't know about to temp fix my issue. Going to have the cables replace and what ever else needs done.

Take off your center console and back off the nut on the e-brake adjuster (both cables connect to it) so the e-brake will not engage when u push in the e-brake pedal.

Or just get some slack in the adjuster and take both cables out of the adjuster.

I've had my wheel lock up like that after a wash if I didn't move the truck and left the e brake on. But I've never had it lock up after it freed up. When's the last time the drum was off and brakes checked? Might need lubed up back there! (That's what she said)

Thinking it's a job site mud/ pressure washing issue. Got it freed up Sunday then drove like normal even went to the park and ride to do some panic stops with no issues. Dropping it off to the mechanic tonight we will see tomorrow
