So I had a Dakar leaf pack put on my 16' DCSB about 3 or 4 months ago and never had any squeaking...:annoyed:until now lol.

I don't off-road or anything so shouldn't be dirt piling up between the leafs, thinking it's from the everyday dirt and grime. I knew this would happen but didn't think it'd be this bad lol it's embarrassing driving in the parking garage because that is all you hear echoing and sounds like a old rusty truck...

What is a temporary/permanent fix for this? I know there is a kit from OME for this issue but would rather not take the leaf pack apart to replace the pads. I have been told to use some WD-40 but would like some other recommendations.

    Thanks!

Get some fluid film, it works wonders!

Energy Suspension Grease would be better and longer lasting. Do it right the first time?

Pressure wash the leaf springs. They stop squeaking for me for a couple weeks or until I went Offroad again.

That's the official "Toyota tech tip" procedure. No lube. I tried Energy suspension grease at the recommendation of a former master tech and someone who has a lot of past experience working with vehicle suspensions.

    This thread is so old.....

Since its alive again WD-40 is not really a lube, its a penetrating oil, great for cleaning parts. Imho if people dont want squeaky leafs, you separate the pads with a prybar if possible or just remove them as use an NGLI multi prupose grease. Better yet, tear the leaf pack apart and apply to pads and the around the center pin.

I have the same problem. Local shop said that ARB updated their leaf packs in the last year by installing liners between the leaves. I'm having trouble finding these liners on the ARB site, however. I'll post back if I find out anything as this is REALLY annoying for me, too.

Greasable leaf spring bolts and white lithium grease the shackle bushings. Grease every 5k miles with my driveline squeak has been gone for 20k miles.

PS. I also run Dakar leaf pack.

Sorry to beat the dead horse but I have a creaking noise from the rear of my truck after doing a full OME lift with Dakars. It’s not a squeak, it’s like a creaking old door sound. Springs have only been on a month. Kinda pisses me off to be honest.

They get less squeaky with age and miles. With 35k on mine, I don't even notice anymore.

Dakar elo95r pack. I don't see anybody talk about the poly bushings. I think that's where my squeak is from. Any fix besides remove, grease and re install?

there is a ziptie trick as well. I am too lazy to look for the thread, but putting zipties in between the leafs willstop it as well.

Reinforced my decision not to buy Dakars with my lift. I want them because they check so many boxes for capability and performance but damn are they noisy. Every set I’ve seen in person sound terrible. Thinking I’ll pony up and pay the premium for Icon RXT’s or a Deaver set. Waiting to hear more on the Wheeler 5-leaf as well.
