Texans are in general very proud of our history and our state in general and are taught all about it from a young age.

Alright, 8am-ish at D Donuts Sat morning. Just a warning, DO NOT go into the basement to look at anything! It's a trap and you will regret it.

Yes, but only on clothing, shoes, and school supplies. There's also limits on the max amount an item can cost so someone doesn't go out and buy Gucci tax free.

And usually dealing with the people/crowds/idiots that weekend makes the savings questionable as far as actual value. Reminds me of black friday. If you can handle, or like, black friday, tax free weekend is for you. If not, run away like a raped ape.

8.25% is $8.25 per $100. Fuck that. I would pay $20 more not to fight the assholes out shopping. I worked at Old Navy for 11 years of Black Friday's and Tax free Weekend's. It's not worth it.

^^^^ This, wife and I tried tax-free the first year for back to school stuff for the kids. After I showed her the savings vs. what we had to deal with, we never did it again.
