Just received my Bakflip MX4 for my 2015 Tacoma, I will be installing this Saturday. Is there anything I should know before installing it?

If you're going to mount it to the factory rails, it's super easy. If you're going to mount it with the aluminum canopy clamp looking things, and mount the factory rails below, that's a little more involved. They give you about 10 pieces of flatbar with 2 holes in each. Personally, I don't like the idea of the tie down rails just hanging out on the ends of the flat bars. I didn't bother with the drain tubes. It gets a little bit of water in the bed, but not very much. I like my Bakflip a lot. If you need to completely remove it, there's just 2 thumbwheels and 1 person can lift it right off. The Bakflip rails stay on the truck.

I will be mounting it to the factory rails. I was told it leaks a little but I'm not worried about that. Do you have any pictures of yours?

Would you mind taking a pic or two of the Rails? I have been going back and forth with this or the Ultra undercover flex but I heard you can't use your tie downs anymore and its a B@#$h to take on and off. Just wondering how it looks installed on the inside? Plus there is a bak flip group buy going on now!

Oh and that Looks sweet btw.

That's the only pic I have of the Bakflip. It's super easy to remove. Like I mentioned above, you just remove the 2 thumb wheels and lift the whole folded cover off. It's also cool that you can fold it up vertical, against the back of the cab, put in the prop rods and drive down the road. There's rubber strips to protect the back of the cab.

Cool Thanks. When you bought this did you compare it to the Ultra Undercover flex or look at any of the other ones?

Nope, I bought it used about 1 hour after I bought the truck. I had it all arrainged ahead of time. Even if it turned out I wasn't going to buy the truck, I was still coming back home with a Bakflip.

image.jpg image.jpg Yes, you do lose the use of the factory side tie down rails. I haven't tried putting a tie down ring in the front rail with the Bakflip on. I doubt there's room. You can use the front rail tie down rings if you remove the bakflip. Like I mentioned earlier, the Bakflip rails stay on the truck.
