I think the problem is that many states don't have them, so people think they are the shoulder or just don't understand the concept since why would you need a merge lane if you're not entering an expressway.
Either way, dipshits will be dipshits. That's what train air horns are for.

Using merge lanes in Colorado is hard for about 40% of drivers to understand.

What makes it harder to understand is when people do not use these signs as a "Yield" sign.
    [IMG] [IMG]

If you're driving in the "Merge Lane" and encounter these signs, you no longer have the right of way and need to yield (and merge in) to the flow of traffic.

    My opinion:
Using the "merge lane" to go twice the speed of the "through lane" traffic should be a ticket. For example, if through traffic is stopped, the merge lane shouldn't be for passing.

Some good beers last night. Rode the bike home in a downpour. Managed to get the Elevation beer glass home without breaking it, personal win.

I agree, but it would sure be a cluster if law enforcement were trying to stop and ticket individuals in an already highly congested area.

I've been dealing with this exact situation on 92nd for the last couple of months (though one lane has now opened again), and am about to deal with it on 86th pkwy... Makes driving to work miserable.

That was his own Fabricated bumper so I think he made them himself. I am sure Cpt Jack will chime in momentarily.
