Not every Bestop owner has complaints.
Every complaint is a Bestop owner.

Now I have a week to decide between black and charcoal. Good thing I have a TW coin to make my decision a bit easier.

I believe is was decided the "Tacoma" side is heads and "Toyota Trucks logo" was tails.

I might have to hit up the photo shop thread. I have gunmetal wheels and think the charcoal would tie in nicely. Then I see the black and the charcoal looks faded to me.

I'm in a similar boat. Actually still considering all three colors but tan is in a distant third, albeit still a consideration.

Anyone know if the dark tinted rear window panel can be substituted for a slight fee? Or is it only offered as an accessory to be purchased separately?

Any current ST owners have recommendations of accessories to be purchased up front? I see clamps, Velcro and snaps have been mentioned. Are these high wear/tear items?

My biggest fear with these is the same with a wrangler soft top. You can cut them

Or take a hammer to a fiberglass one. Locks only keep honest folks honest.

True, but a hammer is a lot louder than a knife. If someone wants in they will get in.

Get this, a friend had a jeep at college and put a sticky note on glass that said doors are left unlock, still had someone stab through the back. Lol

Why cut the canvas when all one needs to do is unsnap the sides? Or unzip and lift the back? I mean, unless the person is intentionally *trying* to look like a thief...

As for things to get, as a current ST owner, I suggest:
    ...storage bag
...clamps, if you don't pop-rivet the rails to your steel bedrail caps (WHY do you not have steel bedrail caps yet??!?)
...spare back window, if you plan on keeping it for a long time (the clear plastic eventually gets scuffed enough to be translucent. It's a wear item)
...if it's not included in a new purchase, you'll NEED Velcro, and you'll WANT the weatherstrip bulb. Both of those can be sourced on your own from Homey Despot (sourcing your own means you can get the specific Velcro you want, and in a continuous strip [rather than the five pieces ST sells])
Skip the mesh windows, unless you're not concerned about dust.

    Ready for Moab (RT'16)!

A rare pic of what it looks like folded:
    20150910_093832.jpg

    Some lighting ideas:
    20150518_212935.jpg
The two bright lights are held on by hose clamps until I get a bed rack built, then they'll move there.
The strips above are held on with clear heat-shrink I slipped over the bars -- the shrink both protects it from damage, and more importantly makes sure it doesn't fall off.
All electrical connections have slack at the frame pivot points, and connect via Weatherpack connectors. I can fold and/or remove the topper without having to remove the lights.
