The only downside for me is that i cant walk under a portion of the opened RTT because im tall-ish. I got the extended version of the CVT so I can stand in that part no problem. The lift ill put in will help but it wont lift it enough to not have to bend down a little while going under though.

It's mounted to a prinsu using the CVT supplied mounts. I'm going to flip the mount to provide more clearance of the doors and to bring it closer in

Yeah I have a similar load, just minus the skids. Time to regear maybe? 4.88s and 35s lol

Mine sounds similar, but I change it up for winter vs summer. In good weather (like beginning and end of winter) I can get 260 miles to the gas light with my lighter winter tires, no bedrack or tent, and tonneau cover. With my 305s, rack and tent in the summer I get like 200. I'm glad to hear you have a similar experience

Wow, this thread is exactly what I was looking for. Tons of great setups in here! I'm considering a mid-height bed rack system so I don't annihilate my fuel economy (already a struggle). That being said, I typically take my bike with me on trips and I'm struggling to figure out how I'd do that with a RRT on a bed rack. How is everyone else doing this?

Also, I'm looking at the Yakima Skyrise 3. Anyone have good or bad things to day about it?

Same issue here. I've got the RCI bed rack and CVT RTT. The options for bikes I was considering are:

    1. Bike mount on roof rack (would be really tall overall and need at least 2, would also minimize storage on roof rack)
    2. Bike tailgate mat (would minimize bed storage amount)
    3. Hitch Mount (likely the way I'll go, I think)

I think we've come to similar conclusions. But I think it's possible to potentially add a fork mount to the sides of a bed rack with some modifications. Not holding my breath on this one but I'm also not ruling it out. Basically, you'd find a way to create a little offshoot of the bed rack that you could mount a Rocky-Mount fork adapter to mount the bike to. That being said, a hitch mount is probably easiest.

A custom mount like that would be great. It will make the whole truck setup wider so based on the type of driving you do, it could be a hindrance. My one concern with hitch mount is clearance when off road. It's. It not a huge concern but it's still one for me

I have the RCI rack and a cvt. I use a hitch mount, works great!

First night in the tent was a success.

The lady loved it, all except the getting up in the middle of the night for below freezing bathroom breaks as she climbed the metal ladder, but hopefully summer weather sets in soon and that won't be such a worry. Waking up with frost in the tent was :censored:

How was the tent in terms of quality and such? I ask because I'm looking at that tent but another member a few pages back stated he bought the Yakima and it had a few manufacturing defects and he wasn't happy with it. Ended up with a Tepui and said the quality was a night and day difference. @boomking , I think it was you that posted that. Can you comment on what exactly you felt was such a big difference? I'm down between the Yakima Skyrise 3 and the Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized.
