So I took my 2008 DC Tacoma in for the TSB rear springs. They had to keep it overnight because they had to order the parts. I call them up later in the second day and ask them if it is ready. The "assistant service manager" tells me that it is ready and it is headed back from the body shop right now... WTF??? Body shop I ask. He then went on to tell me that they accidentally backed it into a pole. He told me that the body shop could not get to it until next week and that I could come get it. I decide to pick it up and check the damage.

They scratched/dented the passenger bed side, scratched/gouged the fender flare and scratched the taillight. I then went on to tell them that I want the bed side, fender flare and taillight replaced with NEW parts. It didn't have any body filler when I brought it in to them and I do not expect it to have any when they are done. The service director(Vince Carnovale) told me that is not going to happen and that they will only repair it. I then try and talk to the general manager(David Kelley) and he tells me that they will only repair it. He said that I could claim it on my insurance if I would like... F*** YOU! He said that I could call Toyota but it would just be sent back to him which they confirmed at Toyota North America. They basically said to me that it is ultimately up to him. Even the person on the phone at Toyota North America said that they would want new parts as well but they don't have any say in the situation.

The damage wasn't horrible but it will still be a repaired fender in the end which is BS if you ask me. I will be going over it and I guarantee that there will be imperfections.

So, if you are getting service I would STAY AWAY FROM Toyota of Dallas. I know for sure that I will never use them again.

that's low, you would think they would replace the parts, and inform you when someone backs your truck into a pole. shit like that doesn't just happen every day and its not something to shrug off your shoulders.

    best of luck man!

I read several complaints about crappy service from Toyota dealers in Texas, all I can say is I'm glad I don't live there. This type of "customer-no service" will come back and bite them in the ass...

If I were you, I would claim it on my insurance. They'll simply go after the Toyota dealers insurance company. You will get new parts and although you will have to pay your deductible up front, you will get it back eventually, and your insurance premiums will NOT go up because of it.

Yeah I agree, I think the part of not being informed right away would really tick me off (along with the damage of course)

A previously wrecked vehicle must be declared and it loses blue book value. They going to give you that cash? They need to.

Take it to court, I'm sure the judge would agree with you. Chances are the second they hear law suite they will fix it to your liking; any law suit would effect their insurance.

I'm gettin on their website & leaving them a nastygram about that fucked up concept. I'm sure they won't care but if we all did it......What is the service manager's name? We could all waste a lot of his time acting like someone wanting to thank him for their great service then when he gets on the line let him know what a dickless bullshit motherfucker he is..........and everyone in the DFW area could go for test drives in new cars and accidentily inflict similar damage then just leave........

I wouldn't let those douche bags fix or touch my truck again. Find a shop you're comfortable with and get it fixed there. Call the cops and get them cited for careless driving. Sorry you hosed! Good luck....

I know your pain!!!! My wifes Infiniti was damaged at the dealership and they said that we had to file a claim on our insurance to get it fixed. A call from our lawyer (he is like a pittbull!!) sooned changed things and the owner of the dealership started making personal calls to 'fix' the situation. Call an attorney and get some advice on this!! Good luck

I'm sure a letter from a lawyer would change their mind and if not then follow through with court.
