Yupp, those were the ones hunter mentioned also. The southeast overland ones are less expensive, rated for 42k lbs instead of 32k lbs. I can't personally vouch for the soft shackles but I can vouch for other products made by Steve at southeast overland and its top quality stuff.

 

It's possible to get one like mine, you'd just have to ask Nathan. They'd build another... To date only 3 were made.
Probably cost over $1600

 

I bought the Gator Jaws as part of a group buy as I had been eyeballing them for a while.
I would not hesitate to get the ones from SEO though.

 

@HomerTaco i saw in your build thread you have a 1" body lift. You have any complaints about it? Kind of looking for some input on going with a half inch body lift to help clear the 285/75R17's in going with. Was considering completely torching off the cab mount as part of it and fabbing a new one up a Half inch and with more clearance if I ever went bigger than 34's

 

What was the GB price when you bought them?

 

I was kind of questioning why he had that body lift thrown on such a well built machine, that answers my questions...

 

I'm thinking this might be in my very distant future. Cab mount relocate and body lift.

 

I don't want to trim the fenders is the reason I was asking, I like the way they look stock and I figured a small body lift wouldn't ruin the aesthetics but would clear enough space for the 34. Kinda just toying with the idea of it partly because of the cab mount part also, had never heard of the cab mount relocate tho, will look into that.

That's basically the answer I was looking for, if the 1/2" body lift isn't going to save me from trimming the fenders, then I've got no reason to do the body lift.

 

Despite the horror stories passed on about body lifts,, you will not immediately die if you install one. I had a 3" body lift on my CJ. Wheeled it hard enough to bend the axle tubes. Never had the body shift or any other issue with the body lift
2" inch body lift should clear 34s to keep from trimming the fenders. Only issues will be steering shaft and radiator relocate to keep fan centered in shroud.

 

1" isn't bad if you don't need to do too much other work to get it to fit. When you go higher you risk needing to extend more things in the cab. Either way I'm anti BL because I want my COG as low as possible. Plus it would take a lot more work to make my bumpers line up better for 1".

 

Will be redoing bumpers anyway, so now biggie making them work. COG should not be significantly higher with frame and drivetrain remaining in place.

 

Went to go help recover some kids who got stuck on a muddy trail in a stock jeep with street tires in light rain. Didn't go very well. Tried pulling first from the front in reverse. Wasn't a good idea but I tried it. A bunch of idiots on the sidelines who don't know anything about recovery were telling me to give it a hard pull "like in the videos with the mud trucks", we didn't have the proper strap for that, I gave it some light tugs but was trying to just get some traction to pull it out. Then tried going from the back and pulling it forward. Put the strap through the hole in the bumper and pulled it, again some light tugs but I didn't yank it like the morons were telling me. Then my brother decides he wants to give it a try, of course he pulls it hard and bends the bumper, brand new bumper not even a year old.
