I finally found this somewhere hiding out in the interwebs from almost a year ago now, so I ripped it and put it on my channel for posterity. I was not on the top of my game that night though. ha

Ever since we moved six months ago, I haven't found a new group to play with or any session gigs. I miss it.

Not bad at all! I just started playing with a band again last November after 19 years. Mostly classic country/country rock. My Tele has been getting a workout. I'm more of a rock guy, but chicken pickin' country solos are damn fun! They're making me sing any new songs I bring in, so that's been the biggest challenge so far. I was never a vocalist, and it shows. I can sing pretty well when the monitors are set up right and I can hear myself, but that's rarely the case. No video worth sharing yet, but hopefully I'll get there.

I haven't played a show in 3 years, but I am doing a recording session for some guys in two weeks. I've shifted to session work since having kids. I'd love to get back into live gigs once the kids are bigger.

haha. yeah. I'm spread thin. I got a 1.5 year old boy, and a 3.5 year old girl. just muscling through it. We got a good thing going and I'm always hanging on by a thread to keep it all together

This right here. I went back to school and bought a house, so something had to go. With all the adult responsibilities, I didn't have much energy, free time, or inspiration for wild rock'n roll. Nor the recovery time the next morning. I do miss touring, staying up all night, wild after parties, and sleeping in basements, attics, hotels, and parking lots.

I dialed back on the deviance. We are in the lucky situation of being locally known and getting to pick shows when it works. We've done the venues we like well with attendance so we aren't out hustling for gigs...we also have no ambition to "make it" and just do what we do. We do have the reputation as the loudest band in Northern Colorado!

I never got to do any of that. I probably wouldn't have liked it anyways. I never go 'downtown' or 'out'. I've always been the "old guy". Get done with a show and be halfway packed up and out the door while the drummer is still doing his last drum fill.

Yeah, I dialed it back on the volume (or at least the speaker count) over the years. At 21 I had a 50 tube watt 4x12 halfstack. I got tired of lugging it up & down stairs and swapped to a 60 tube watt 2x12 combo, which later went for a 22 tube watt 1x12 combo. A few years ago I built a 5 tube watt 1x10 combo, which I use for noodling around the house. Now I'm looking for something with an 8" or 6" speaker :)

I got that way when my first kid was born. I wanted to get home. Started drinking water, packing up and cutting out as soon as the set was over.

Hilarious because I do the same thing.

I feel ya. I have multiple amps and setups. But I've played Orange Amps and cabs live since 2004. I have a '84 JCM800, and Vox AC30 (I pulled the guts out to make just a head)..but I have a full orange Stack (which I never need) and an orange 2x12 to practice with my micro black orange head (maybe 5 watts?)..But we are flipping loud. just the niche we dug ourselves into I guess. Serves our music well tho. Chunka chunka kind of band. Our recordings currently are Ok, but we need to re-record everything. We only got through 3 songs before our sound guy moved..but I think Ill record with multiple amps this time

I used to bring a Mesa 50cal+ and an Egnater Tweaker to shows and each had their own 4x12 on either side of the stage. The amount of Tunings this guy was making me use meant I was pulling 6 or 7 guitars to every show. It was insane but it helped me feel like we were doing big things. Haha
