Toyota near me in MN had to look up how to install my tonneau cover, and it still took them 2+ hours to do it.

I liken this to the wreck in my 2008 Tacoma. I'm stopped a traffic light and get rear ended by a kid texting. Does $6500.00 to my truck. I did not ask for this to happen and it was not my fault. I WANT MY TRUCK PUT BACK IN PRE WRECKED CONDITION. Meaning I want brand new Toyota parts anywhere there is damage. I am entitled to this as it was not my fault. I would not and did not accept anything else. Do not let them patch the damage. Make them put it back EXACTLY like it was or SUE THEIR ASSES!!!! Also I had a Toyota dealer tell me they could not certify any used car that had been wrecked or had previous damage. Value is affected. They will most likely owe you a check for diminished value. Get an attorney.

the admitted fault and were going to fix it at no cost to the OP. I guess i missed the attitude in that? They didn't get testy until the OP started demanding brand new fenders. scratches are not a big deal to fix.

What else can they do but admit fault? If it were just scratches that would be one thing. I guess you also missed the first post where it says scratched/dented, the dents weren't horrible but it will take body filler to smooth everything out. Also, they have NO right to get testy. They wrecked my car and they should fix it the way it was when I brought it in. Did it have a repaired fender with body filler when I dropped it off? NO, it did not. You I am guessing have not dealt with a lot of body work. When they try to blend it out you are going to notice it, you will also be able to feel paint mask lines on the inside edges of the panels(tailgate area and in between cab and bed)

I never lost my temper towards them, I understand that accidents happen. I was calm and not once did I raise my voice, threaten them or anything. I did talk to the GM/Partner(David Kelly). He told me that if I didn't want it done their way that I could sue them.

Get a lawyer, make sure to include diminished value in what they owe you. It came in with un damaged oem parts and i would request it leave the same way.

Oh and forget calling the police, this is a civil matter.

very nice! those commercials are horrible!!
Im really sorry that this happened. I dont know what I would have done in the situation. Probably would have flipped out. I'd call a lawyer like others have said, and if for some reason nothing comes of that, claim it on insurance as long as nothing goes up. At least you will get new parts and that what you want, no filler. Keep us posted. Once again, sorry to hear about this.

I agree with getting in touch with your insurance- They will know the local law and diminished value claims (Good luck with that...) and they have lawyers that can normally help out with customer problems vice retaining one on your own.
They won't work a civil claim but they can usually get the problem resolved before going to court.

X2 on don't waste time with the police- They could care less and have little to no authority to do anything about it. Won't get a ticket...Probably hardly get a report filed.

I dont think this is any different than if someone on the road hit you. You can fix your vehicle where ever you like. Ask the dealer for their insurance info and file a claim. Then get it fixed where ever you want and have it done the right way. They have to have insurance for their employees to drive the vehicles. If they get testy with you and dont provide it call the Dallas PD and make a report of the incident and failure to show proof of insurance.
Might want to call Saual Garza on Fox 4 if this does not go the right way.

Let us know how this goes. I would be extra pissed off if they pulled this on me.

The most important thing you should do right now is go get your truck back before they attempt to repair it. If you leave it with them to repair you are giving permission to use body filler because they told you that's what they are going to do. If you allow them to fix it and you don't like it then you are out of luck. With the truck back in your possession it gives you time to formulate a plan that keeps you happy. In other words don't settle. Take pictures. Contact your insurance company. If you have to, offer to split the cost for them to use new parts as a last resort. At least that way you'll be happy with the truck when you get it back and that's your main goal.

I agree with 81shark, what would you do if hit in a parking lot or anywhere else? They are going to fix it, I just don't see the problem. Go ahead and go through your insurance; what do you think will happen? They'll have it repaired just like the dealer.

I'm not saying it doesn't suck but let's be realistic here. If you want to talk about loss of value with them, I can certainly understand that. Bring a lawyer with you because those types of convo's never get anywhere without one.
