I'm trying to see where you mounted your rear winch. Obviously it's hidden pretty well. What made you mount in the rear?

At the time, I was in a "go fast" phase and the primary motivation to rear mount the winch was to get weight off the front end. For the couple of years that I had it rear mounted, I did prefer to winch out of, rather than through, what I was stuck in.

However, the amount of dirt / mud / snow / etc. that the winch was exposed to made the winch unreliable. I tore it down and rebuilt it twice, each time fixing the issue for a few months. It was also very difficult to get to the freespool lever.

Now, I want the weight carrying capacity in the bed (RTT + camping gear + recovery gear) and I have "grown out" of the go-fast phase of the build. I will miss the ability to winch out of a stuck, rather than through it, but overall the front mount will work. I have previously had a front mounted winch when I had an AP plate bumper.

You have to love a town where you can load up the kids and a suppressed SBR in plain sight, drive into town, get gas, and drive 5 minutes out of town to shoot in a spot like this. Nobody freaks out... people just smile and wave at the kids.

It's there, it's just behind the truck in this picture.

Just got back from a six day, 1200 mile camping / kayaking / climbing / hiking / offroading trip all around the Kenai peninsula in Alaska. Will put together a dedicated thread for it in the coming days as I sort through all of the pictures, videos, and drone footage.

That bottom one is a boat launch ramp in Seward. Also took a day and went out to the beach in Kenai that is accessible to vehicles.

    Hah. Found you. :spy:

I've been eyeballing your truck every time I drive past it. Been wondering what the details are on it.

    Nice build up.

Oh yeah, I saw you too.

Looks like you know the area pretty well, I'll have to pick your brain for where the trails are around here.

Maybe we can meet up and talk story for a bit. There's a ton of built tacomas up here.
