STEEL RED NATO JERRY CANS 5 GALLON

What's up everyone. I am in the market for a jerry can for my truck and have been doing some research and came across these Steel Red Nato Jerry Cans.

Does anyone have these or know if they are legit or bogus? I've had plastic ones in the past and wasn't happy with the leaks that came. Never could find nor afford the Specters out there. These look really solid, so I wanted to get the community's feedback on these.

Oh, and if you have suggestions for the jerry can holders for the truck bed, that would be appreciated too. I think Smitty Bilt builds one but I don't know how that would mount to the bed. Thanks everyone!

 

I have a 5 gallon green nato. I like it, hasn't given me trouble yet.

 

Thanks JaCado. Did you buy the nozzle that they sold for it as well? Do you strap your can to the truck bed?

 

interested in knowing as well. From the pics they look good.

 

The nozzle came with mine. Wasn't extra. I don't have a mount for it, just used a ratchet strap to secure it in the bed. Mounted or secured behind the back window.

 

Sweet, I can't seem to find a seller that will sell it with the nozzle included, where did you get yours?

I was able to get several scepters and the donkey dick that works with them.

If you're in CA, keep an eye on the surplus stores near military bases. Sometimes they end up for sale. Somehow.

 

They don't show a picture of the open mouth but the spout looks like a vented version. Make sure you get the real vented version and not the unvented. You need to make sure that the spout is also a vented version as there are unvented, and the CARB complaint junk; the vent allows some air in as you pour so that the can pours freely.

 

Looks like those metal ones are $70 each???

I just snagged some proper scepter from this guy - shipped free from Canada - took about 4-5 days to receive them.

Thanks everyone, this is giving me lots of ideas to what to buy. Do any of you brother and sisters having Jerry Can mounts to the back of the truck bed?

 

I have two of them. They used to be sold here as Briggs and Stratton brand. They are awesome and don't leak.
