I read your story about what happened. I'm sure we'll camp a good distance away from the shore after hearing about that.

We could probably meet up a gas station about an hour out from Usal. 9/10AM? I'm pretty flexible with whatever.

was your first spot there or closer. that's a nice looking area. might have to check it out someday. I was only joking above. I would of never thought the tide would reach you were your at in the pic.

That was the night before. we were fine that night. The following night when the tide when over the sand bar that whole area was under feet of water. Luckly we were back away from the water the second night.

I have been lurking in this thread. I'll be set up with Icon's and a RTT by June hopefully.

And my wife nags me to camp every weekend.

We have a couple spots on the Sierra's we like.

Was this recent? I understand that since the 101 is closed north of Leggett that usal, like bell springs rd is being used as a bypass around the slide. I read on lost coast outpost that people have been, predictably, getting stuck in sedans on usal and this may have led to gate closure. Were there downed trees or washouts? Considering a trip up there, but I may wait until the 101 opens.

Yesterday/Today. 101 northbound is closed just after Legget, and 1 westbound is closed just about a mile down the road after Legget.

If you're looking to get to Usal Beach, take Branscomb Rd in Laytonville out to HWY 1 northbound and follow the coast out to Usal. If you hit a white bridge when taking 1 northbound, you've gone 2 miles to far.

I'd agree. Usal Rd is a bit of a muddy mess right now. I don't know about the road conditions past Usal Beach, but the road going to Usal Beach was mostly just mud puddles every.
