Toyota's fix is a bust, owners claim

Some Toyota owners have begun complaining that their vehicles suddenly accelerated even after dealerships made repairs to fix the problem, according to reports filed with federal safety regulators.

At least seven complaints, filed in the last two weeks with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, allege that after the recall service to modify pedals and replace floor mats the cars still surged out of control.

People always have to complain about something. If they didn't bitch, they arn't living.

 

I'm sure when it comes down to it this whole recall stuff will have been caused by sorry ass usa parts or American employees making toyota's. If these cars were totally made in japan we would not have any of these problems. Just like honda....put a honda plant in the US and hire lazy ass US employees, you get shitty products. It's ashamed but sadly true. Look at the 80's tacoma trucks. Yeah, they last forever but what was one of the problems? It was the rusting bed. And guess what? Those beds were made in the good ole USofA. Japan would ship the trucks without beds so that they could stack easier on ships. When they got here beds that were made here were put on them. Nothing else but the bed would rust on these trucks. Another example of good ole usa products.
Don't get me wrong, I love the USA but we have some sorry ass ways, and they have caught up with us.

I wonder if the Dodge Durango that I saw rearend a Honda Fit about an hour ago had sudden acceleration?

Note to self: Never ride in a Honda Fit.

 

Preface: as a native of NYC, I am a CYNIC.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I would venture a guess that there's probably some truth to "unintended acceleration" but I would give fair odds that anyone that winds up "in a ditch" or "in a snow bank" in a Toyota is going to claim "unintended acceleration".
